“This is a massive gamble. Louie, who do you think will be the king of Javonbury’s criminal underworld?” Walter asked quietly.

After a moment of silence, Louie said grimly, “I hope Ashton can take the throne, of course, but the Sage is far too terrifying.”

“Do you wish to betray Ashton and choose the Sage?” Walter asked.

Louie shook his head. “I will support Ashton no matter what, Dad. I’ve never met anyone worthy of my admiration, apart from him. But I was thinking about leaving the Holt Crew and joining Ashton in his fight against the Sage in my own capacity.
