Eunice couldn’t help wondering why Ashton was showing up now.
She stared at his face. The more she looked, the more captivating it became.
Once again, she found herself overlaying his figure with that of the Lord Reaper. Her heart began racing uncontrollably.
“Eunice, you’re so pathetic!” she muttered to herself.
She’d sworn she wouldn’t come looking for him again. But when she learned he was facing the Sage in a fight to the death today, she couldn’t help rushing over.
She was terrified of missing what might be her last chance to see him.
“Are you confident you can win?” Eunice asked, unable to meet his penetrating gaze.
“You’re worried about me?” Ashton smiled.
She bit her lip hard, her voice carrying a particular edge.
“I just don’t want to see the Legion’s future destroyed because of you. Do you have any idea that everyone in the Legion and the Northern Troop has bet everything they own on you? If you lose, the Legion is finished.”
“I know. So, why are you here? I’m pretty busy,” Ashton said coolly.
“L..”
Eunice’s face flushed. She seemed to steel herself before saying quietly, “That thing… Where we… Does it help with your injuries and cultivation?”
“What did you say?” He hadn’t quite caught that.
She glared at him, embarrassed and irritated.
“I said… Does dual cultivation with me help your practice or not?”
Through her previous two encounters with Ashton, Eunice had noticed her cultivation speed had increased dramatically.
The inner and spiritual energy in her body had surged at an astonishing rate. Even her physical body had grown stronger.
Being extremely intelligent, Eunice quickly realized this had to be connected to Ashton.
“Yes.” Ashton didn’t deny it.
Her Pyric constitution was highly compatible with his Drakeborne lineage. While it didn’t reach the level of the chosen maiden, the spiritual energy he could absorb from her was enormous.
Moreover, the more proactive and passionate Eunice became, the more effective the Drakell technique worked
Ashton occasionally found his thoughts drifting back to what had happened between them, especially the intensity of their second encounter. It had been an exceptionally pleasurable experience.
“Come with me.” Eunice’s fists clenched slowly, her face flushing deep red as she spoke in a low voice.
“Hm?”
Watching her graceful figure and that hesitant, almost feminine demeanor, he immediately understood what she had in mind. She was worried he might lose to the Sage and wanted to do what she could to help him.
He studied Eunice carefully. This woman was Roxy’s best friend.

While she could be foolish at times, perhaps she wasn’t so unbearable after all.
Ashton paused for a moment as he examined his own body internally. Most of the spiritual energy he’d absorbed from Elise had already fused into his core. He could use a bit more to stay at his peak for the upcoming life–or–death match.
“Are you coming or not?”
Eunice turned back, and her lively eyes locked on his as her face turned bright red.
“Coming,” he responded, checking the time before following behind her.
Unsurprisingly, she led him back to the statue of the Lady of Grace. With them at the center, an enclosed barrier formed.
Eunice pressed her long, pale legs together. Her body was already breaking out in a heated sweat, and she couldn’t quite meet Ashton’s eyes.
Her voice grew quieter. “How can I… help you the most?”
