Chapter 737
+25 Boris
Ronan’s face was filled with terror.
Even a cornered rat would cling to life when death loomed, let alone a deputy head of the Dominion Vanguard with a chance of reaching the divine realm. He still had too much ahead of him to accept death so easily.
But Ashton had no intention of sparing him. The violence and fury boiling inside him demanded release.
“Ashton,” Ronan gasped. “If you really kill me, the Dominion Vanguard will stop at nothing to avenge me. There’s no need to push things this far. Spare my life, and I can help smooth things over.”
He swallowed hard before forcing the words out.
“I’ll tell you a secret. The Council has been considering a merger between the Dominion Vanguard and the Legion. If that happens, we’ll be on the same side.”
Ashton raised an eyebrow.
Amerger? If that were true, it was hardly good news for the Legion.
“There’s no need to show mercy toward people from the Dominion Vanguard,” Ashton replied coldly. “And the truth is, you deserve to die. I want to be the one who kills you.”
A cruel smile crept across his face.
Just as Ashton prepared to finish Ronan, a voice rang out from the stands.
“Ashton,” Logan said evenly. “The Empyrean Sentinel, the Dominion Vanguard, and the Legion all serve the same country. There’s no need to take this matter to this extreme. Spare Ronan, and we will owe you a favor. One that could prove invaluable to you in the future.”
Ashton looked up, his gaze meeting Logan’s. Their eyes locked for a brief moment.
Logan’s expression darkened. He didn’t like the defiance in Ashton’s eyes, nor the faint smile that felt like open mockery.
“Mr. Cunningham, you allowed Ronan and Felix to join the Sage’s camp. You were willing to support a traitor, and now you have the nerve to tell me not to take this matter to the extreme?” Ashton snorted.
“A favor from the Dominion Vanguard? Do you really think I care? Do you think I need it?”
Dark currents of energy surged around him, then split into dozens of killing intents that shot straight toward Ronan.
Ronan let out a desperate, agonized scream as the dark energy pierced through 36 vital points across his body, destroying them in an instant. His eyes flew wide, pain etched across his face, before the light in his gaze faded.
His breath stopped, his vitality extinguished, and his body fell limp.
After witnessing Ronan’s gruesome death, everyone gasped. As they looked into Ashton’s cold, indifferent eyes, a chill ran down their spines. Only then did they grasp who they were dealing with.
Standing against Ashton meant being prepared to die.
A cold wind swept through the arena, and everyone shuddered.
Cadence and Tybalt felt that chill far more sharply than the rest. Regret surfaced as the weight of their betrayal settled in. Choices had consequences, and this one might already have sealed their fate.
Neither of them dared to meet Ashton’s gaze. They cowered behind Flint, keeping their heads low and clinging to the hope that
he still had some hidden means to turn the situation around.
Just as tension peaked and many onlookers were bracing themselves for Flint’s side to falter, Harvey Warren rushed onto the life

-or–death arena.
His eyes snapped open, dark and hollow, fixed on Ashton with an intensity that felt deeply unsettling. When he spoke, his voice carried a chilling calm.
