Ashton–with his veins popping like a snarling dragon along his arm–swung Frostwyrm Blade with a devastating, all- encompassing sweep.

Their blades met in a violent collision, and at that speed, the impact made the very earth shake, and a surge of energy radiated outward in concentric circles. Ashton and Gareth stood a mere three inches apart, each pouring more power into their strike.

In the deadlock, rubble and stone shards flew in every direction as their competing energies clashed. There were plumes of hot steam erupting around them while the ground beneath their feet continuously exploded and caved in from the sheer force of their collision.

“You actually managed to block my sword, huh?” Gareth’s expression shifted to one of shock. He then scowled, realizing the situation had already moved beyond what he had anticipated.
