The force behind Flint’s palm strike was overwhelming. A violent pressure rolled forward, like a predator lunging in for the kill, swallowing Ashton whole.

The strike landed at point–blank range, and the impact crushed down on Ashton’s body.

In an instant, the black stormwind barrier surrounding him shattered. His body dropped straight from the air and slammed into the ground, carving out a human–shaped crater. The surrounding earth fractured into powder as blood splattered everywhere.

Sylvia and Wanda felt the air leave their lungs, as if they’d taken the hit themselves.

Sylvia went deathly pale, the sight hitting her like a physical blow. It felt as though something had pierced straight through her heart, fear flooding her completely. If anything happened to Ashton, she didn’t think she would have the strength to go on.

“Don’t worry. Ashton doesn’t go down that easily,” Melody said, though her voice wavered. “He’ll definitely win.”

“Yes. He will,” Sylvia replied, biting her lip hard.

She hated her own helplessness more with every passing second.

Wanda pressed her lips together, her nails digging into her palms as tension coiled through her.

“Mom, Ashton won’t die,” she said firmly. “He’ll win this fight and become the new ruler of the criminal underworld in Javonbury. I’m done following the script you wrote for me. I’m not some pawn to be traded in a marriage alliance, and I won’t be the family sacrifice.”

Julia felt a jolt of unease at the sheer intensity in Wanda’s voice, her own frame tensing in response.

On the other side, Irina narrowed her eyes as she looked at the streak of blood Ashton had left in the air. She gave a faint shake of her head, regret flickering briefly across her face.

“Sometimes being just a little too early means you’re born into the wrong era,” she said quietly. “Ashton, you’re too impatient. Give it another ten years, and this time might have belonged to you. But right now, you’re not even close.”

Beside her, Logan exhaled slowly.

“What a shame,” he murmured.

“Roxy, the Sage is terrifying,” Robert said under his breath, swallowing hard.

Roxy gave a slight nod. For a moment, something unreadable passed through her eyes.

“This is why I chose to work with Mr. Vance, she said coldly.

“Ashton overestimated himself. He can’t win this fight. The Sage already gave me his word. Once Ashton is defeated, he’ll spare his life out of consideration for me. But he’ll strip him of his power first.”
