“Mr. Cunningham, according to the rules of a life–or–death duel, the use of pills or any external assistance is forbidden. The Sage broke the rules when he took that Cracked Foundation Pill. I demand you declare Ashton the victor. The outcome is already decided,” Kayla said, her voice sharp with anger.
“Logan, if you still care about the Empyrean Sentinel, then don’t drag its name through the mud. Don’t forget why this organization was founded in the first place,” Neil added.
In an instant, every eye in the arena turned toward Logan. As the appointed referee of this life–or–death duel, he held the authority to decide the outcome.
His expression was unreadable. If he were judging by principle alone, Flint had violated the rules and should have been ruled the
loser.
However, the Empyrean Sentinel had already entered into an agreement with him following the Dominion Vanguard’s devastating defeat.
If they helped Flint secure his position as the ruler of the criminal underworld in Javonbury, the Empyrean Sentinel would expand its influence across the region while delivering a fatal blow to the Legion, so it would never rise again.
This was what Logan desired, and what generations of Empyrean leaders before him had pursued. Their organization had lived in the Legion’s shadow for far too long. They would not allow even the slightest chance of its resurgence.
Ashton had undeniably become the heart of the Legion. If he fell here, the organization would collapse with him. There would be no revival and no second ascent to glory.
“There’s no way to have both,” Logan murmured under his breath.
The hesitation in his eyes disappeared almost immediately. His expression hardened as he spoke, each word deliberate.
“There is no evidence that Mr. Vance consumed any prohibited pills. The match continues.”
The ruling was final, and it ignited fury among the legionnaires and every faction that stood behind Ashton.
“Head of the Empyrean Sentinel? More like a fraud. Twisting the truth like that is disgraceful.”
“Disgraceful? It’s worse than that. It’s disgusting. Mr. Gray was right. The Dominion Vanguard and Empyrean Sentinel are nothing but dead weight sitting in positions they don’t deserve. The only ones still defending real fairness and justice are the Legion. Those two don’t even belong in the same category. They’re just selfish opportunists.”
“You’re right.”
A chorus of angry shouts erupted.
Tensions hit the breaking point instantly. On both sides, hands moved to weapons, the atmosphere thick with hostility. A single spark could ignite a full–scale brawl.
The legionnaires stood in cold silence, hands tightening around their longswords, and were ready to stake their lives on the fight.
Suddenly, a wild, unrestrained laugh echoed through the arena.
In the arena, Ashton tore away the shattered remains of his black coat, revealing his bronzed skin and the gruesome wounds ho had sustained. His voice boomed across the arena.
“If Mr. Cunningham says the fight continues, then it continues. It’s just the divine realm. Someone who forced a breakthrough with pills? I’m not afraid of that. That’s exactly what I came here to fight.”
The battle intent in his eyes surged like a blazing storm. He was utterly exhilarated. An imperfect, bottom–tler divine realm cultivator was the perfect opponent for him.

“Mr. Gray… Is he going to fight someone in the divine realm? Is that even possible?”
“Normally, it would be impossible. Even an imperfect, bottom–tier is still in the divine realm. But for some reason, when Ashton says he can fight one, I believe him.”
