Chapter 792
“Even if Ashton is unhappy with this outcome, nothing will change. So what if we’re being bullies? It’s not our fault he has no one to back him up! This is the brutal truth. It’s best if you can accept it sooner rather than later.”
“If a fight does break out, the Legion won’t stand a chance against the Empyrean Sentinel and the Dominion Vanguard! Ashton and his supporters should know when to call it quits rather than embarrass themselves further. No one will benefit from escalating the situation.”
The opposing parties grew increasingly hostile, and the temperature around them dropped to freezing.
Logan showed no reaction to the curses and accusations that were being thrown around. As the head of the Empyrean Sentinel, he only needed to act in the organization’s interests. Once everything had blown over, he would take responsibility for everything and salvage the organization’s reputation.
“Stop being so stubborn, Ashton! Let’s try to reach a compromise,” Logan said, attempting to reason.
Ashton chuckled. Locking eyes with Logan, he spat out a mouthful of blood before sneering, “Is this how the head of the Empyrean Sentinel is supposed to act, Logan? Do you have no conscience? How could you treat your organization and Casoria this way?”
Logan’s expression flickered before he flashed Ashton a look of contempt. “Being too stubborn often leads to failure, Ashton. You’re a talented man. Don’t sacrifice your future.”
He continued, “Listen to me. The Legion can not protect you–join us instead. If you agree, I promise that you’ll be the next leader of the Empyrean Sentinel. You deserve this position more than you deserve to be the ruler of Javonbury’s criminal underworld!”
“The Empyrean Sentinel?” Ashton burst into laughter. “Why would I join such a corrupt and filthy organization? Mark my words. One day, I’ll wipe the Dominion Vanguard and the Empyrean Sentinel off the face of the earth!”
“How impudent!” Logan barked.
His eyes flashed with killing intent as he shot Ashton a cold glare. “Do you really think I won’t lay a finger on you, Ashton Gray? You haven’t even set foot into the divine realm. It doesn’t matter if you’re a prodigy or some kind of freak. I could easily crush you like an ant.”
All of a sudden, a strong force bore down on Ashton’s shoulders. Wounds that had just begun to close split open once again, and his knees buckled under the pressure. An invisible weight was pressing down on him, and it seemed like it was trying to force him onto his knees.
This power was even more terrifying than that of a divine realm expert!
In the blink of an eye, Neil unleashed the strongest killing intent a semi–divine realm expert could muster. Then, he proceeded to swing his long blade toward Logan.
“You overestimate yourself!” Logan spat.
After sparing Neil a quick glance, Logan’s spiritual energy surged, and a violent wave of energy burst outward from his body. A shockwave swept across the arena and hurled Neil’s body into the air.
Neil coughed up a mouthful of blood as his body slammed against the wall. After the impact, he was unable to get up for quite some time. As it turned out, even someone as powerful as him was no match for Logan.
This was what made Logan, the head of the Empyrean Sentinel, such a terrifying man. He was stronger than the divine realm experts, and Ashton was as weak and insignificant as an ant to him. Because of his overwhelming strength, he dared to twist the truth and manipulate the match’s outcome.
Everyone’s hearts sank. They felt incredibly helpless.
