Chapter 795
A split second later, a tall figure came to stand beside Ashton. Together, the pair looked like two unstoppable gods of war.
“Lawrence Clarkson? How is this possible! Why is he here? Didn’t he injure his divine soul and fall into a coma? What the hell is going on?”
The gamblers clawed at their hair as their expressions crumpled into despair.
“It’s really him! What a terrifying aura! There’s no way he just got here. That old man must’ve been hiding the entire time. He’s been waiting for the perfect opportunity to kill Logan justifiably!”
“I’m starting to think that this is some elaborate trap. They’re not just trying to take down the Sage and his men–they’re planning to eliminate the head of the Empyrean Sentinel too!”
“That means that Mr. Clarkson Senior has been awake all along. He never fell into a coma–he lied about it to trick Logan and the Sage into letting down their guards. He’s trying to subdue both of them in one go!”
“There’s still the Soo–billion–dollar bet! I heard that the Legionnaires have staked everything they own on this fight. They’ve even wagered everything at the highest odds. They’re going to bleed the city dry!”
“What a sly duo! They’ve been plotting this since Ashton concealed his semi- divine realm powers. We’ve been tricked! With Lawrence here, there’s no way that Ashton is getting killed!”
“What are we going to do now? I feel like everything’s spiraling out of control!”
In one swift moment, the group that had been celebrating moments ago now looked desolate and dejected. Cold sweat broke across their body, and they were trembling uncontrollably.
“Grandpa!” Kayla exclaimed as she stared at her spirited grandfather.
She was overwhelmed with joy. She had just realized that Ashton had her fooled as well. Lawrence must have woken up from his
coma ages ago.
“What a jerk…” she muttered.
Despite the pout on her face, she couldn’t stop smiling.
“Mr. Clarkson Senior!” the legionnaires cried out.
The entire organization was ecstatic. Lawrence, who was the cornerstone of their entire organization, was still standing. Moments ago, every single one of them had been consumed by pent–up frustration. But now, it was time to turn the tables and return the humiliation tenfold.
“Who said Ashton doesn’t have someone to back him up, Mom? Mr. Clarkson Senior is still alive!” Wanda let out a breath of
relief. Before this, she felt so anxious that she could barely breathe.
Julia arched her brow. Despite her surprise, she still replied stubbornly, “Lawrence is old. His strength is declining, so he may not be Logan’s match.”
On the deathmatch stage, Lawrence didn’t even spare Logan a glance. He simply acted as though the latter was an insect he could crush at will. Instead, he turned toward Ashton and gave him a thumbs–up.
“Good job, Ash!”
Lawrence had been watching from the shadows this entire time. He had nearly stepped in on multiple occasions. But in the end, he forced himself to hold back.
He chose to believe that Ashton would be able to fulfill his promise. And as he had expected, Ashton didn’t let him down.
Ashton let out a breath of relief as the tension gradually drained from his body. With Lawrence here, he finally felt safe enough

to let his guard down. Now that he was able to relax, he swiftly poured every ounce of his strength into healing his injuries.
He accelerated the Cosmic Breathing Technique and hungrily absorbed the spiritual energy in the air around him. Then, he lowered his voice and asked, “Are you sure you can handle this, Mr. Clarkson Senior?”
Although Lawrence’s divine soul had mostly recovered, his body was still weak, and his wounds hadn’t fully healed.
