Divorced and Dominant Now You Cry novel Chapter 81

Chapter 81

That’s right,Ashton said. But let me make one thing clear first. I never investigated you, Ms. York. Tonight is actually my first time meeting you. It’s just that I happen to know a thing or two about parasitic arts.

From the moment I laid eyes on you, I suspected you’d been poisoned. That’s why I took the liberty of plucking a strand of your hair, even at the risk of offending you.

“You say Hank poisoned me. Do you have any proof?

By now, Natalie pretty much trusted most of what Ashton said, but she still found it impossible to believe that Hank wanted to kill her.

If it hadn’t been for her, Hank would still be a street thug doubling as a fraud back on the borders of Cloudridge. She was the one who gave him everything he had now!

He was her only living relative. How could he repay her kindness with complete betrayal?

The parasitic arts Hank practices give off the same energy that I sense from you. That’s my proof,Ashton replied.

Are you saying that Hank practices the parasitic arts?Natalie exclaimed.

That’s right, but he only has a basic mastery of it. I’m guessing there’s someone else behind him who’s masterminding this scheme to murder you for profit. He might only be a pawn,Ashton said.

From what Ashton had observed, Hank barely knew the basics of the parasitic arts, not even enough to scratch the surface. The one who could control the parasitic poison like that couldn’t be a halfbaked amateur like him.

Why should I believe you?Natalie asked, her brows tightly knitted.

What choice do you have, other than to trust me, Ms. York?Ashton commented with a laugh.

Go on, then. Tell me what it’ll take for you to treat me,Natalie said.

She didn’t press the subject of Hank any further. The fact that she’d made it to where she was proved she wasn’t a fool. She simply hadn’t considered such a possibility before.

Smiling, Ashton queried, If you hadn’t met me, Ms. York, you would’ve died for sure. How much do you think your life is worth, Ms. York? What kind of conditions can I name?

Are you threatening me?Natalie’s gaze turned cold.

If you think it’s a threat, Ms. York, then so be it. If you’re unhappy, you’re free to leave at any time,Ashton replied. Surely you know there’s a fate for every human being and a price for everything in this world.

A chill rippled through Natalie. At that moment, she felt as though she was dealing with someone far superior and even more powerful than herself.

After a brief pause, she suddenly flashed a sultry smile at Ashton. She tugged her collar down ever so slightly, revealing a glimpse of her fair chest.

Taken aback by her sudden actions, Ashton cleared his throat.

Putting away all of her earlier hostility, Natalie got up and moved to a seat beside Ashton.

She let her warm breath wash over him as she giggled and remarked lightly, I heard that you and Roxy have divorced, Mr. Gray? Well, that means we’re both single. Do you think something could happen between us?

Natalie was already pressing her body against Ashton. All traces of her earlier distant and unapproachable attitude had vanished, replaced by a captivating, seductive siren.

Chapter #1

Even Ashton had a hard time keeping himself in check.

We’re in the middle of discussing terms, Ms. York,he said seriously.

+25 Bonus

That’s right. We’re discussing terms. But what terms would there be for us to negotiate if I’m completely yours? Natalie stared at him affectionately, her persona shifting from that of an aloof CEO to a bewitching seductress.

Ashton immediately put his guard up, for she was no ordinary woman. If he genuinely believed that she was offering herself to him, then he would definitely be sucked dry and eaten alive later on!

Her methods were far more cunning than Roxy’s.

Kindly show some selfrespect, Ms. York,Ashton declared with the attitude of a complete gentleman.

However, he didn’t reject Natalie’s advances. After all, she was none other than the famed Natalie, a goddess in every sense of the word.
