Elowen’s gaze turned icy. Her eyes, filled with killing intent, locked onto Ashton once again. She clearly meant to eliminate him completely and prevent any future threat.

Ashton’s eyes narrowed as he stared at her skeptically. When did this female cultivator become Sylvia’s master? And since when had Sylvia become the Holy Maiden of the Stellar Hall? None of it made sense.

He shot Sylvia a questioning look.

She looked just as confused and shook her head, making it clear she had no idea what was happening.

“Let me go,” Sylvia said. “I’m not some Holy Maiden of the Stellar Hall, nor am I your disciple. You’ve got the wrong person. This is my husband. He’s the man I love most. If you dare hurt him, I won’t let you get away with it.”

She tried to break free, but a terrifying force locked her in place and stripped away any chance of

resistance. All she could do was look at Ashton, her face tight with anxiety and worry, her heart aching to

its core. She would rather suffer in his place.

“You weren’t before, but you are now.”

Elowen looked at Sylvia and, for the first time, revealed a faint, gentle smile. As she sensed the stellar energy within Sylvia, her satisfaction grew.

“Have you heard of the Stellar Hall?”

Sylvia shook her head.

“It doesn’t matter. You only need to know that the Stellar Hall stands on equal footing with the ancient martial lineages. It is a supreme power far beyond the secular factions. Once you become the Holy Maiden, your status will be honored and untouchable.

“No one will dare bully you. I’ll devote everything to cultivating you. You’ll become the brightest star of this era and stand above your peers.”
