“Who said the marriage alliance is off? This marriage alliance is between the Heavenly Medical Pavilion and the Shepherd family. If Connor still hasn’t been found by the time it comes, we will just swap him for someone else. It won’t interfere with the alliance between our families!” Shane stated gravely.
“Do you like Ashton, Wanda? It’s truly a shame, though, as he won’t be around much longer. You’re destined to marry into the Heavenly Medical Pavilion whether you like it or not. after all, that’s your fate!” Rose smiled brightly, her expression full of cruel amusement as she watched the scene unfold.
“I refuse to marry into the Heavenly Medical Pavilion!” Wanda yelled, her fists clenched tightly, yet she felt a profound sense of helplessness deep down.
“How absurd!” Julia interrupted quickly, casting a flattering glance toward Shane. “Please ignore Wanda’s rebellion, Mr. Shane. She’ll have a change of heart and obediently marry into the Heavenly Medical Pavilion once Ashton is dead!”
Shane merely nodded in response. He didn’t care about Wanda’s will, nor did he care whether Wanda liked someone else. He only needed to ensure that the marriage alliance between the two families was completed, as self–interest was all that mattered.
Wanda pursed her lips, recalling Ashton’s promise–he had once promised he wouldn’t allow her to be married off against her wishes. She couldn’t help but mutter under her breath, “You gave me your word, Ashton! You can’t lose this fight! You have to win it and show everyone what you’re made of!”
In that instant, a thunderous explosion rocked Terminus Cliff, causing everyone to stare in stunned disbelief.
“Ashton got knocked back again! Ashton is definitely losing this one!”
“Is that it? Is there really no miracle left for him this time?”
George’s fighting became increasingly aggressive on the stage. His mastery of the divine realm’s power was incredible. Each blow used minimal energy, yet he consistently hit Ashton with the most violent force.
In the eyes of others, Ashton appeared to be at his limit, likely to be destroyed by George at any second.
George’s expression, on the other hand, turned increasingly grim. His inner and spiritual energy were finite, so his opening barrage had been a calculated attempt to break Ashton quickly and conclude the match.
It had been 15 minutes since the fight started, but despite looking battered and injured, Ashton held out against the onslaught. His defensive maneuvers were becoming more seasoned, and a very perilous light flashed in his eyes, causing George to feel a surge of alarm.
If this persisted until his inner and spiritual energy ran dry, it could very well be the start of Ashton’s counteroffensive.
“Josie certainly has an eye for people,” George thought to himself as he recalled Josie’s admiration for Ashton. She had already accepted him as her son–in–law–to–be and was even busy checking the calendar and preparing for the wedding ceremony.
He couldn’t help but sigh to himself as he gazed at Ashton’s well–defined features. He thought that Faye’s marriage to Ashton would actually be ideal if he himself weren’t associated with Cassian.
He was aware that one could see a man’s true nature through a duel. He thought that Ashton’s appeal was shown vividly in this fight, leaving him deeply impressed.
