Queenie glanced at Callum and replied indifferently, “If he takes the initiative to strike, it means he’s confident in his chances. I won’t step in when that time comes, no matter if he lives or dies.”

“I’ll hold you onto that, then! I’ll grant you this favor and let Ashton go this one time, Queenie!” Callum was reluctant, but he was indeed unsure of his ability to kill Ashton in Queenie’s presence.

Wanda’s body shuddered as she fought to break free, but her strength was insignificant before Callum, the head of the Heavenly Medical Pavilion. She was completely at his mercy, held firmly in the palm of his hand.

Julia said hurriedly, “Wanda will fulfill the arranged marriage with the Heavenly Medical Pavilion, Mr. McGrath! Wanda has nothing to do with Ashton!”

“That’s a lie, Dad! Wanda is actually very fond of Ashton!” Rose snapped, glaring at Ashton with pure hatred.

“Get your hands off her!” Ashton’s heart sank at the sight of Wanda being grabbed, his forehead marked by throbbing veins.

Callum questioned chillingly. “You want me to let her go, huh? You’d better listen up, Ashton–the Shepherds and the Heavenly Medical Pavilion have already settled on this union.

“Wanda was supposed to marry my son, Connor, but since his whereabouts are unknown, I’ll reluctantly take her in as one of my mistresses.

“I’ll be holding the wedding soon, Ashton. You are welcome to attend if you have the time–or, if you are brave enough and dislike the idea of her marrying an old man, you can come to stop the wedding. I’ll be waiting for you, Ashton!”

Upon hearing that, everyone present was momentarily stunned. They never imagined that Callum would announce he was taking Wanda as a mistress and challenge Ashton by inviting him to the wedding. They knew very well that this was a deliberate provocation toward Ashton.
