Rose said with a sneer, “I told you before this, Wanda–you’re destined to marry into the Heavenly Medical Pavilion. I just didn’t realize that my father would be the one marrying you and making you his mistress. I guess you’re really lucky in a sense. It means you’re going to be my stepmother soon, Wanda.
“It’ll be quite a show if Ashton really dares to crash the wedding! I’m already getting excited thinking about it!”
Julia, observing everything, sighed inwardly. She had been unwilling to let Wanda get too involved with Ashton for this very reason.
She was well aware that the union between the Heavenly Medical Pavilion and the Shepherd family had long been set in stone, beyond anyone’s power to change. She believed that any attempt to circumvent this arrangement would only result in intensified suffering.
“I’ll be marrying Wanda! If you wish to see her again, come find me at the Heavenly Medical Pavilion, Ashton!” Callum bellowed.
Having said that, the massive teleportation array beneath Callum began to glow with an eerie light. In a matter of moments, it whisked him, Rose, and Wanda away from the scene.
Ashton struggled to his feet and roared toward Lord Ashdrake, who resided deep within his soul, “Grant me power!”
“Do you feel the pain now, Ashton? Do you recognize the true majesty of power? It’s a shame, though, as the time for our deal hasn’t come yet. You and I can have a proper discussion once you’ve stabilized your cultivation level, Ashton!”
Lord Ashdrake’s voice echoed hollowly, his eyes within Ashton’s Sea of Consciousness gleaming with an eerie light.
Ashton tightened his fists and resolved himself, channeling the Drakeborne lineage inside him, his gaze turning unwavering and determined.
Upon sensing the shift in Ashton’s energy, Queenie cocked her brow and pointed at him, confining him within a sealed domain. “You should stop your futile resistance, Ashton. You won’t be able to stop Callum from snatching Wanda away with your current strength.
“You should just seize her back before the wedding if you truly care for her. Why throw now? You’re only making a fool of yourself, Ashton!”
your life away
Ashton tried to move, only to realize he was trapped within the sealed domain. He was unable to break free, his power completely neutralized. He looked at Queenie and yelled, “Let me out of here!”
Queenie looked away from Ashton, acting as though she hadn’t heard him.
In mere moments, Callum, head of the Heavenly Medical Pavilion, and Rose and Wanda vanished from sight as they teleported away from Ashton.

Upon watching Wanda’s figure disappear, Ashton felt a sharp pang of grief deep within him–that familiar, crushing sense of helplessness had returned. He realized then that power was all that mattered. Queenie swept a glance over the crestfallen Ashton and fell silent for a moment before saying, “Let’s go!”
She was just about to take a step forward when she suddenly narrowed her eyes and roared, “Who’s there?”
In that instant, scorching red flames rose into the air, and from within them, a middle–aged woman with remarkable poise stepped out, her body emanating a Phoenixborne aura akin to Faye’s.
“I mean no hostility toward you or the Legion, Ms. Nolan. I only intend to take Leona and Faye to join the Divine Phoenix Order,” Ember Blaze, the head of the Divine Phoenix Order, explained.
Upon hearing this, Leona and Faye both trembled, feeling a familiar energy radiating from Ember, as though they belonged to the same bloodline.
“What do you two say?” Ember asked as she smiled at Leona and Faye, exuding an overwhelming pressure that suggested that declining wasn’t an option.
