Miranda looked alarmed. Unable to stop Steven’s wind blade from swinging downward, she could only watch everything unfold with a look of despair.

To everyone’s surprise, the wind blade let out an audible pop the instant it reached Ashton. Then, it burst apart like a bubble and disintegrated into dust. It didn’t manage to harm Ashton in the slightest.

In the blink of an eye, everything was calm.

Miranda’s mouth fell open, and her eyes slowly widened in shock. She turned to look at Ashton. His calm and resolute smile only made him seem more mysterious and captivating than before.

“What happened?”

“Didn’t Steven attack him? How is he still alive?”

“It looks like he blocked Steven’s killing intent!”

“What? How is that even possible? Even Aaron-a semi-divine realm expert-failed to do so. How did this guy manage to pull it off?”

The onlookers began to whisper amongst themselves.

On the platform, Aaron was just as stunned as everybody else. While looking Ashton up and down, he muttered, “The blind date my wife set up for our daughter is surprisingly capable…”

Taking in Ashton’s composure, he gradually began to feel hopeful.

On the other side, Maddox seemed perplexed as well. Since when had Aaron found someone like this as a prospective son-in- law?

Frowning, Steven glared at Ashton and demanded, “Who are you?”

“My name is Ashton Gray, and I’m Miranda’s man!” Ashton declared. “You humiliated and threatened my girlfriend-and you even made her cry.”

He continued calmly, “I’ll make this simple. Break one of your arms and get down on your knees to apologize to her. Do that, and I’ll spare your life tonight. How does that sound?”

As soon as his words fell, the crowd erupted into a frenzy.

“Holy shit! This guy is crazy! I’ve never seen such an arrogant person in my entire life! Those who don’t know any better would probably think that he’s the ruler of Linton Island’s criminal underworld. He’s really full of himself!”

“He thinks he’s invincible just because he blocked one of Steven’s attacks. This Ashton guy clearly has a death wish!”

“What a cocky man! If he makes it out of this alive, I’ll refer to him as the king of bluffs!”

“Things are getting interesting. It’s been a while since Linton Island’s been this lively!”

Everyone grew anxious as their eyes darted between Steven and Ashton.
