Divorced Dazzling and Desired novel Chapter 25

**Raindrops Kissing Silent Streets – by Aadi Sharma**
**Chapter 25**

“Hey, wait! I still don’t know your name!” Renee called out, her voice echoing slightly in the damp air.

Yet, the man continued his brisk pace, his back turned to her as he quickly joined his friends, their laughter ringing out like a melody in the otherwise quiet street.

A heavy sigh escaped Renee’s lips, a mix of defeat and frustration swirling within her.

“He really doesn’t expect anything in return,” she mused, her thoughts racing.

Was he a modern-day Good Samaritan, a beacon of kindness in a world that often felt so harsh?

Just then, her phone buzzed, breaking her reverie.

She glanced down at the screen, her heart lifting as she recognized the name. It was Alison, her best friend. Without a moment’s hesitation, she answered the call.

“Hey, Alison!”

“Babe, where are you?” Alison’s voice was playful, and she cleared her throat theatrically. “Ahem! Come to the airport to pick up your queen.”

Renee’s brows shot up in surprise. “You came to Seraph Island?”

“Of course!” Alison chuckled, the sound bright and infectious. “I can’t possibly let my precious babe suffer alone on this island, can I?”

A sudden wave of emotion washed over Renee, and she felt a sting at the back of her nose. Tears threatened to spill, and her voice turned thick with unshed feelings. “Okay, I’m on my way now.”

She had been bottling her pain and frustration for what felt like an eternity. Alone in her thoughts, it hadn’t seemed like a big deal, but the moment Alison’s genuine care pierced through her defenses, all those buried emotions surged forth like a tidal wave.

Renee was not one to cry easily, but at that moment, she found it impossible to hold back.

About an hour later, she arrived at the airport, her heart racing with anticipation.

Standing at the exit, she clutched a large bouquet of champagne roses, their vibrant petals a stark contrast against the dull airport backdrop. After a seemingly endless thirty minutes, she finally spotted Alison striding toward her.

“Alison! I’m over here!” she called out, waving her arms enthusiastically.

Alison was a vision—her sleek, short black hair framing her face perfectly. Dressed in a casual gray suit that accentuated her figure, she wore black earrings that sparkled as she moved. With a face that could easily turn heads, she radiated confidence and charm.

Alison wrapped her arm around Renee’s shoulders, her heart aching for her friend. “Don’t worry. I won’t mess up your plan.”

A cold snort escaped Alison’s lips, and she clenched her fists in frustration.

“But once you’re done divorcing that scumbag, I’ll make sure he regrets ever hurting you. And that little witch Kayla—who does she think she is, hurting my best friend? She’s asking for it!”

With Alison by her side, Renee felt a sense of strength she hadn’t known she needed.

Since Alison’s arrival on the island, they had spent every moment together, even sharing the same room for the night.

Adam, aware of their close friendship, had remained silent, allowing them their space.

The following day, the group wrapped up their trip to Seraph Island and boarded the cruise ship back to Harborview City.

Renee, preferring the serenity of quiet moments, found solace in the gentle sway of the ship. Most of the time, she and Alison relaxed on the suite’s balcony, the cool sea breeze brushing against their skin like a soothing balm.

It was a rare moment of calm and comfort, a small reprieve from the storm of emotions that had been swirling in Renee’s heart.
