Chapter140.
“Ms. Taylor, consider our sessions concluded as of today. No need to refund the remaining classes; please don’t come by from tomorrow onwards.” Damon delivered his message calmly, then turned and left the gazebo.
The yoga instructor stared after Damon’s retreating figure, stunned and frustrated.
Refusing to give up, she stood with her hands on her hips, surveying the expansive courtyard.
Owning a large traditional courtyard home in New Haven City signified wealth and status–he was undoubtedly a son of the city’s elite.
Men like him were usually the most eager and adept at playing with women.
Yet, he seemed uninterested in her advances?
The yoga instructor glanced down at her own curvaceous figure. Compared to Aubrey Hayes, she was bigger, more voluptuous,

She couldn’t figure it out, but now she wouldn’t have the chance.
nside the yoga room.
Aubrey woke up groggily on her yoga mat. Not seeing the yoga instructor, she propped herself up and looked around, her gaze landing on Damon, who vas sitting on the sofa.
What are you doing here?” Aubrey asked, getting to her feet and walking over to him.
Jamon offered a gentle smile, picked up a cup of warm water, twisted off the lid, and handed it to her. “Just finished up some work. I came to check on
our yoga session, but I saw you were asleep, so I didn’t wake you.”
Aubrey took the water, sipped, and asked, “Where’s Ms. Taylor?”
She finished her class for today. She won’t be back tomorrow.”
Why?” Aubrey asked, puzzled, as she tightened the cap on the water bottle and set it down.
Jamon wrapped his hands around her slender waist, pulling her close, parting her legs so she straddled him. “Sit on my lap.”
Aubrey’s legs were forced open by his knees as he pulled her to sit on his thighs.
The placed her hands on his shoulders, looking down at him, and softly protested, “Your leg’s just healing. The doctor said it’ll take at least six months o fully recover.”
Then sit closer, right against me.” He leaned back against the chair.
Aubrey smiled helplessly and obediently scooted closer, pressing against his lower abdomen. Kneeling on the sofa, she wrapped her arms around his
eck, gazing deeply into his eyes from mere inches away.
The position was intimate and suggestive, Damon’s favorite way to embrace her.
I’ll find you a married yoga instructor,” Damon explained casually. “Ms. Taylor wasn’t a good fit.”
‘A married one Aubrey asked, surprised. “Did Ms. Taylor come on to you?”
I’m not sure, and I don’t want to guess what others are thinking. Plus, I don’t want any trouble. It’s easy enough to switch”
Aubrey feigned annoyance, cupping his handsome face in her hands. She frowned and pouted, “What am I going to do? You’re just too attractive Who’s more attractive?” Damon gripped her waist, pulling her tighter against him.
Aubrey melted against him, giggling as she fell into his chest. She buried her face in his neck, shyly saying, “Not like this, we’re in the yoga room.”
Damon reached up to rub the back of her head. “I’m going back to work in a couple of days. I won’t have as much time to spend with you at home. You absolutely, positively can’t let your mind wander to dark places Besides overtime and business trips, I’ll be home every day.”
“Okay.” Aubrey replied, her mood dampened as she leaned against him.
When you’re not busy, spend time chatting with Sierra. You can talk to my sister too.”
“Okay.”

“No matter what’s going on at work or in your life, if anything is bothering you, you have to tell me. Don’t keep things from me just because I’m busy or for any other reason.”
“I won’t. I promise I’m completely transparent with you.”
“I’ll believe you for now.”
Finally, he believed her?
Finally! Aubrey couldn’t help but smile.
Aubrey fell silent, wrapping her arms around his neck, burying her face in the crook of his neck. She breathed in his pleasant, subtle scent, feeling a sense of security that made her almost drowsy.
She wanted a nap, but someone else was getting ideas.
“Back to the bedroom?” he asked.
She sighed, whispering in his ear, “I just finished yoga and I’m all sweaty.”
“You love to shower anyway. I’ll join you for a midday one, and then we can do it again tonight.”
“Okay.”
Damon supported her behind her knees, lifting her up and carrying her out.
Aubrey wrapped her legs around his waist, her arms around his neck, clinging to his strong, tall frame like a cuddly sloth, refusing to let go.
As they walked down the hallway toward the bedroom, Aubrey remembered something and said, “Damon, I have a dinner thing tomorrow night, organized by Alex from Hills Law Firm. I’m hosting, and I can’t get out of it, so I’ll be home late.”
“Why are you hosting?”
“After we won the chemical plant pollution case, everyone insisted that I treat them. But that case didn’t pay much, so I didn’t. Now that Alex’s case is won, with that ten million dollar fee, my cut is five million. After taxes, I’ll still have over three million left.”
Damon kissed her cheek, filled with pride. “You were amazing, Bree. You’re making more money than I am.”
“My accomplishments can’t compare to yours.”
His tone turned serious. “Don’t put yourself down.”
Aubrey smiled softly. “Okay, I won’t. I’m just as amazing as you are.”
Damon pushed the door open and shut it behind him. He hooked his hand around the back of her neck, kissing her as he led her toward the bathroom.
Weekends always flew by, filled with sensual moments that stretched into the night.
In a dimly lit corner of a parking garage.
Two men sat inside a black Maybach. The interior lights were off, and a faint glow filtered through the tinted windows, illuminating a small black bottle in one of the men’s hands.
“Take this. It’s good stuff. Use it on Aubrey Hayes.”
Garrett Miller nervously accepted the bottle, swallowing hard. “This… this is illegal.”
“Don’t you like her?”
“I do.”
“Don’t you want to sleep with her?”
“I do.”
“Then go for it! I’ve got your back. Nothing’s going to happen to you. Don’t forget who my dad is a Chief Prosecutor isn’t someone to mess with Garrett stared at the vial, still hesitant. “I’ve heard Aubrey Hayes‘ boyfriend is really well–connected and a tough customer. I’m scared
“Hard? Nothing’s harder than me.” The man grabbed a duffel bag from the back seat and tossed it at Garrett. “You get to sleep with the woman you want, and get paid for it. I’m covering your ass, so don’t be scared.”

Garrett unzipped the bag, his eyes widening at the sight of the stacks of cash inside. A grin stretched across his face, his eyes gleaming with greed. “Thank you, Mr. Blackwood.”
Evan scoffed, his gaze fixed ahead, an ominous glint in his eyes. He pulled out a cigarette and lighter, slowly igniting the end.
