DON’T STOP (Lila and Darrell) novel Chapter 148

Chapter 148

Chapter 148

Scarlett

The man who had been my top supporter for almost a year, the one who had paid for private sessions, the one who had watched me perform while I had no idea who was behind the screen…. was the same person I had just confessed my secret to. The same person I had fallen in love with. The same person who had just told me he loved me back.

My legs felt weak. I sank down onto the edge of his bed, still staring at the laptop like it might disappear if I blinked.

All those generous tips. All those late-night messages. The way Vee had always been patient and respectful. The way Viktor had never pushed me about my job or asked too many questions.

It all made sense now.

And yet… it also made everything feel like a lie.

Tears pricked at my eyes. I didn’t know whether to feel relieved, betrayed, angry, or heartbroken. Maybe all of them at once.

I sat there in the quiet of his apartment, the weight of the discovery pressing down on me, wondering what I was supposed to do now.

“Vee.”

The username stared back at me like a cruel joke. The hamster avatar, the massive tipping history, the private session requests – everything matched. The man who had been my biggest supporter for almost a year, the one who had paid double rates and watched me perform while I had no idea who he was… was Viktor.

The same Viktor who had just told me he loved me.

The same Viktor whose mouth and hands had been all over me last night.

The same Viktor I had just asked to be my boyfriend.

A sob broke free from my chest. I pressed both hands over my mouth, trying to stifle the sound, but the tears came anyway – hot, angry, and heartbroken. I cried there in his quiet apartment, shoulders shaking, feeling betrayed and foolish all at once. How long had he known? Had he been laughing at me the whole time? Or worse, had he been using the information to get closer to me?

When the tears finally slowed, I wiped my face roughly with the back of my hands. My eyes felt puffy and raw. I couldn’t stay here. I stood up, closed the laptop, and left his apartment, making sure the door clicked shur behind me.

I walked straight to the security office, my steps heavy.

The guard looked up when I entered. “Miss Scarleu? Door issue again?”

I nodded, my voice barely above a whisper. “Yes. The code isn’t working.

He grabbed his tools and followed me back. I sat on the floor beside my door, knees drawn up, watching him work in silence. This time it only took him about 35 minutes. Either he was getting better at it, or the problem really hadn’t been that bad.

“I’m done,” he said, standing up and testing the lock.

“Thank you,” I whispered, still sitting there.

He paused, studying my face. “Are you okay? You look… sad.”

I just nodded, not trusting my voice.

“Okay then. Take good care of yourself. I’m leaving now.”

“Mr…” I called as he turned to go.

He stopped and looked back.

“He was lying,” I said, my voice cracking. “Vee… I mean, Viktor isn’t my boyfriend.”

The guard’s expression softened. “It’s fine. You can date whoever you want as long as it doesn’t break any laws. Besides, you two don’t look like you have a large age gap. I should have thought before speaking. I apologize for being reckless and childish.”

“I said he isn’t my boyfriend!” I yelled, the words bursting out louder than I intended. “What’s so hard to understand?!”

“I’m sorry… I… I didn’t-”

He paused mid-sentence as Viktor came into view at the end of the hallway.

“Viktor?” the guard said, surprised.

I glared at Viktor, who looked confused and sad, his eyes flicking between the guard and me. Without another word, I opened my door, stepped inside, and slammed it shut behind me.

The moment I was alone, I slid down the door, back against the wood, and buried my face in my palms, Fresh tears came fast and hot. My shoulders shook with silent sobs as everything crashed over me again – the discovery, the lie, the way I had opened up to him about my OnlyFans only for him to already know.

I cried there on the floor of my apartment, feeling exposed, hurt, and utterly lost.

What was I supposed to do now?

A soft knock suddenly echoed through the apartment.

“Scarlett?” Viktor’s voice came from the other side, gentle but urgent. “Please open the door. I just wat is talk. Tell me what’s going on.”

“Go away!” I yelled, my voice cracking.

He didn’t leave. He stayed there, knocking softly every few minutes, begging me to open up, to let him explain. His voice grew hoarse as the hours passed, but I stayed curled on the floor, refusing to move. I couldn’t face him. Not yet.

Night fell. The knocking eventually stopped, but I knew he was still out there. I cried until I had no tears left, then dragged myself to bed. Before I could even think about sleeping, I stood up and started throwing all my OnlyFans things into a big black bag – the red mask, the wig, the lingerie, the toys, the ring light. Everything. I didn’t want any of it anymore.

When I finally stepped out to throw the bag away, Viktor was still in the hallway. He looked depressed shoulders slumped, eyes red and tired. He had clearly been waiting all night.

I didn’t care. I tried to walk past him.

He grabbed my arm gently. “Can you tell me what I did? Why are you ignoring me?” His voice broke, and he was on the verge of tears.

“You liar,” I snapped, yanking my arm away. “You deceived me! Since when did you know I was Red Fox?”

He swallowed hard, eyes widening in shock and guilt. “Scarlett…”

“Fuck you.” I flipped him off, my voice shaking with anger and pain. “And do not fucking contact me again. It’s over.”

He just stood there, tears sliding down his cheeks as he whispered, “I’m sorry… I’m so sorry.”

I turned and walked back into my apartment, slamming the door behind me. The moment I was inside, I slid down to the floor again and cried until exhaustion pulled me under.

Chapter 149

Scarlett

A Month Later

The new job was a lifeline.

I woke up early, got dressed in a simple blouse and trousers, and headed out. The walk to the office felt lighter than anything had in weeks. No more hiding behind a mask. No more late-night streams. No more wondering if Viktor or Vee was watching.

When I reached my desk, I sat down and powered on the computer. The screen lit up with spreadsheets and reports. My role was administrative support in a small logistics firm – nothing glamorous, but the pay was decent, the hours were stable, and my colleagues were kind. I opened the first file of the day, took a sip of coffee, and started working.

For the first time in a long time, I felt like I was moving forward.

But even as I typed, a small part of me still ached. I hadn’t seen or heard from Viktor since that night. He had respected my wish and stayed away. He seemed to have moved. Part of me was grateful. Another part still remembered his gentle kisses and the way he had held me. I missed him more than I wanted to admit.

I pushed the thought away and focused on the screen.

One day at a time.

The workday finally ended, and I let out a long breath of relief as I shut down my computer. The new job was steady and paid well enough to keep the loan sharks quiet for now. My colleagues were friendly, and today had been productive. As we packed up, a few of them suggested grabbing drinks at the bar down the street.

“Come on, Scarlett! Just one round,” my coworker Lisa said with a grin.

I hesitated for a second, then smiled. “Okay, why not?”

We ended up at a cozy little bar, laughing and chatting over cocktails. The conversation flowed easily-work gossip, weekend plans, silly stories. For a couple of hours, I almost forgot the mess waiting for me at home. We left the bar still talking and laughing, the group slowly splitting off as people headed in different directions.

I waved goodbye and flagged down a taxi. The ride home was quiet, the city lights blurring past the window. When the cab pulled up in front of my building. I paid the driver and stepped out, already thinking abour a hot shower and sleep.

But as I approached my door, I stopped short

A man was sitting on the floor right beside it, head bowed, face buried in his knees. My heart jumped. Whe the hell was that? Fear prickled up my spine, but curiosity won. I moved closer cautiously.
