Chapter 116
The Base Entrance.
A dozen teams of Supers were already lined up, waiting to clear security.
Josie and Winnie stood a short distance away, watching for the perfect moment to slip inside.
It was exactly as Winnie said–these Supers were full of themselves. They thought they were gods and treated the gate guards like absolute garbage.
If the guards moved too slow, they’d get a face full of attitude. If they were really unlucky, the Supers would just start swinging.
The guards didn’t dare cross the Supers. They kept their heads down and worked double–time, barely glancing at the IDs before waving people through.
This was exactly what Josie was waiting for.
She casually strolled up to a young man and tossed an arm over his shoulder like they were old friends.
“The hell do you want?” the guy snapped, clearly annoyed by the intrusion.
Just borrowing your identity!” Josie said. Her hand clamped onto the back of his neck with practiced ease.
Before he could even process what was happening, Josie hit a pressure point and he went out like a light.
She shoved the poor bastard toward Winnie to hold him up.
Then, she coolly fished the ID out of his pocket and snatched his hat and jacket.
It was pouring now. Between the heavy rain and the sea of umbrellas, no one noticed a thing.
Besides, Supers were a prideful, solitary bunch. They kept their distance from one another.
It made it even easier to stay under the radar.
To anyone watching, it just looked like three friends huddled close, whispering to each other.
Josie threw on the jacket, pulled the hat low, and headed back to the gate with the stolen ID.
She slammed the card onto the table with an attitude. “Forgot something,” she barked. “I’m going back in!”
‘Right away, sir! Of course!” The guard didn’t even dare look up, let alone reach for the facial recognition scanner. He just processed her through as his hands could move.
Josie flashed Winnie a quick look, then turned and disappeared into the base.
As she walked in, she brushed right past June.
June took two steps, then froze. That silhouette looked familiar. She whipped around and stared at Josie’s back. “Hey! You! Stop righ
Josie didn’t give her the time of day. She just kept walking.
June’s temper flared. She reached out, ready to grab her.
Just then, someone tapped June on the shoulder. ‘Relax, June. I know that guy. He’s one of our Superyan Aquacle
