Zat said you find a pesticide plant nearby or something?”
Then a plum. An Agri–Science Inciture,” Josie replied. They’re the ones who realized Paraquat was a game–changer for killing mutant plants. They’re
ones who mamed using i
Josie had beard about this in her past life. It was just some random intel she’d picked up back then.
At time, she thought it was ironic. A real twist of fate.
Who would we thought? After everything the best way to take down those Mutant Flora was something so basic. It was the last thing anyone expected. She’d actually forgotten all about it until this morning. Seeing Winnie spray for roaches in the drain made the memory snap back.
And that mean one thing
Josie and June were about to cross paths again. Fate was pulling the strings.
The Agri–Science Institute sat right between the Fort City suburbs and the downtown area. Since they did a lot of field work, the place was built on high ground
When the undead outbreak hit, the Institute locked their gates tight. Total lockdown.
Think about it–it’s an ag–research center. They had experimental fields for days. They weren’t going to run out of food or water anytime soon Plus, to keep people from trampling the crops, the whole facility was walled off like a fortress.
Basic Undead and Tier–la didn’t stand a chance of getting inside.
Later, when the heavy rains hit, the plants inside the Institute started to change. They mutated.
But then, some low–level staffer accidentally spilled the pesticide. Every mutant plant and animal in that area? Gone. Wiped out in an instant. Word spread fast. The other researchers at the Agri–Science Institute didn’t waste a second. They tested every single chemical they had on hand. They even threw the results into a slide deck to sum it all up: Paraquat was the undisputed king.
This stuff had been out of production for years because it was pure poison. No cure. No antidote.
It killed humans, and it killed plants. Simple as that.
By some crazy stroke of luck, they’d stumbled right onto the Mutants‘ ultimate weakness.
The Institute had its own lab and a small processing plant, so they started cranking out batch after batch of the stuff, getting it ready for the Base.
As soon as the Base got the news, they scrambled a squad of Supers to head over and secure the shipment.
Later, Josie gave it some thought. Why did the Mutants fear pesticides while the Undead didn’t give a damn?
It was actually pretty simple.
Humans are scared of pesticides too, right?
Think about it.
Anyone spraying that stuff wears a full hazmat suit for a reason.
One slip–up and you’re toast.
What does that tell you?
It means every “natural” species is vulnerable to it.
