The crowd from the Base perked up the second they heard Josie’s name.
They started chiming in, acting tough. “Yeah, she’s right! We killed these things. Since when do they belong to you?”
osie just sneered. “Oh, we’re really doing this?”
She didn’t wait for an answer.
Countless gold and silver blades erupted from behind her again.
The gold blades spun clockwise, the silver ones counter–clockwise, creating a shimmering, lethal halo.
t looked absolutely badass–pure, raw power.
Then you’d better ask my blades if they agree,” Josie said, her voice cold. “If you’re not afraid to die, come and take them!”
Let’s see which is faster–your hands, or my steel.”
That shut them up fast. Everyone stopped dead in their tracks.
Someone from the base group nudged a guy next to him. “Hey, you’re a Metallic Super too. Can you do that?”
The guy’s face turned a deep, embarrassed purple.
He gritted his teeth for a long beat before finally muttering, “Not even close. Her talent is off the charts–she’s at least Tier–3. I just
it Tier–2. I’m not even in her league.”
Hearing that made June’s blood boil.
t wasn’t fair.
They had the same damn father. How was Josie’s potential so much higher than hers?
No. She couldn’t let Josie keep showing her up like this.
une’s fists clenched tight. She looked up, her voice suddenly dripping with fake concern. “Josie, you’ve already done so many 1orrible things, and the base has been nothing but forgiving. Don’t do this. Stop being so stubborn and just give it up!”
osie watched her with a cold, mocking half–smile. She knew that tone. Whenever June opened her mouth, a load of bullshit was ure to follow.
Sure enough, June started her little martyr act again. She put on a fake, teary–eyed face and whimpered, “I don’t mind that you tole everything I owned. We’re sisters, after all. If my big sister wants to take every last thing I have, that’s fine. But you shouldn’t have taken the base’s three billion tons of grain. That’s food for millions of people! How could you be so selfish?”
June, what did you just say? She stole your supplies?” Grant, her Pyro simp, practically exploded with rage. “She doesn’t deserve to be your sister! She’s not even fit to lace your boots!”
Wait, so she’s the legendary Josie? No wonder security at the gates has been so insane lately. It’s all because of her!”
‘How the hell did she manage to steal that much food?”
Theard she has an Infinite Vault–she can fit anything in there! She didn’t just take the food; she wiped out the base’s entire armory, too. The base has a massive warrant out for her head!”
“Damn. If I weren’t so outclassed right now, I’d take her down myself. The bounty the base is offering is insane.”
The group of Supers started gossiping loudly right in front of Josie. They didn’t even bother to lower their voices, looking at her like she was already a paycheck waiting to be collected.
June loved seeing the crowd tear into Josie. It felt damn good.
But the feeling didn’t last.

That Metallic Palm flickered into existence right in front of her face again. In front of every Super there, it swung
CRACK!
It was a clean, loud hit.
“Since you’re so set on me being your sister, then I guess it’s my job to set you straight. Anyone got a problem with that? Josie smirked, a dangerous glint in her eyes. “This is family business. Anyone else wants to talk shit? I’ll smack you, too. Don’t believe
me? Try me.”
