Right as he said it, Josie snapped her head up and looked straight at the lens.

Her gaze was sharp. Cold. Pure killing intent.

He jumped and yanked the camera away, too spooked to keep watching.

“She looks like a real handful,” the head of Xavier City Base grumbled, trying to save face. “Not my type at all. ́

The others bit their tongues to keep from laughing. “Right. For sure, boss.”

“So, do we go down and say hi?” someone asked.

“Say hi?” the leader scoffed. “Why bother with the walking dead? Forget them. They’re nothing but snacks for that thing

Meanwhile, Josie felt the camera on her. She stared right back into the lens, her eyes full of cold provocation.

Whether it was the crew from Xavier City Base or that Alpha watching her, they’d better stay in their lane. If not, they d find out exact how nasty her temper could get. She’d wipe the floor with every last one of them.

“Road’s blocked.” Josie slammed on the brakes, the car skidding to a dead stop.

The others piled out of the vehicles, weapons up and ready for a fight.
