Doomsday Revenge: Payback Time (Josie) novel Chapter 328

< Chapter 328

Chapter 328.

Before Cyrus could recover his footing, Josie moved to end the ambush.

She was fast, but Cyrus was faster. He instantly gathered the surrounding debris, twisting it into a massive metallic sphere and hurling it at her. Josie was forced to split her focus, attacking the hidden assassin while simultaneously defending against Cyrus,

“Cyrus! You’ve really hit a new low, haven’t you?” Josie mocked him. “So what if you’ve reached Fier-6? You still have to team up with someone e to hold me to a draw?”

“Shut up!” Cyrus shouted back. “You aren’t going after her today!”

“I’m going after her today regardless!” Josie snarled. She braved a direct hit from Cyrus just to land a killing blow on the coward who had ambushe her.

*Thud! Thud!*

Cyrus’s attack and Josie’s counter-strike landed at the same time.

Both Josie and her hidden attacker were wounded simultaneously.

The ambusher could no longer maintain their camouflage in the sea. A figure rose from the water, revealing themselves.

When Josie saw who it was, she froze.

“June Quinn?”

Indeed. The person who had just ambushed Josie was none other than June, who was supposed to be back in Fort City.

June had been hit hard by Josie’s strike. She spat out blood, her face turning deathly pale in an instant.

“It’s you!” Josie started toward June, her eyes burning with murderous intent.

She didn’t care about that male lead appearing anymore. She was going to kill June right here, right now.

However, just as Josie gathered her strength for a final, lethal strike, Cyrus blurred into motion. He flashed in front of Josie, blocking her path.

He was clearly determined to protect June.

“You’re working together?” Josie looked from Cyrus to June. Everything clicked.

“June, you really are pathetic.” Josie’s gaze moved past Cyrus to the girl slowly walking onto the shore. “You’re a human, yet you’re collaborating with the Undead. You have no decency left!”

“A moral compass? What good is a moral compass?” June stepped behind Cyrus, looking at Josie with a sneer. “It would only keep me beneath you forever. It would ensure I never had my day in the sun.”

“What’s wrong with what I’m doing now? I’ve killed wave after wave of Undead in front of those idiots back home. They treat me like a here! They treat me like a savior!”

“Because I am the first human to reach Tier-6!”

June smugly summoned a sphere of water, tossing it back and forth in her palm. “Didn’t I just successfully ambush you? Josie, I finally beat you once finally got to vent all that rage!”

“I don’t have to live under your shadow and be humiliated by you anymore!”

That’s enough for me!”
