Chapter 467.
“What’s the point of talking about this now?” June replied coldly. “If you don’t let go, all three of us are going to die right here! Didn’t you always claim that the people you loved most were Mom and me? Didn’t you say you’d die for us?”
“We don’t even need you to die. We just need you to let go!”
“Look, Dad. Life in the apocalypse is miserable. Finding a quick release isn’t necessarily a bad thing.”
“Back in Fort City, I could provide you with a life of luxury and status. But we’re not in Fort City anymore. All that dignity and comfort It’s gone.”
“I can’t support this family anymore!”
“You were used to the good life before the world ended, Dad. You won’t be able to handle the fall from grace.”
“It seems this is fate. Heaven is trying to set you free.”
“Dying now… it’s for the best!”
Arthur stared at June in total shock. It was as if he had never truly known his own daughter.
How could she be so utterly heartless?
For the sake of June and her mother, he had driven his first wife to her grave and abandoned his most capable, talented daughter, Josie!
How could June be this heartless?
Sylvia Sutton added, “She’s right, Arthur. You kept saying you did it for us, but wasn’t it really for yourself? You married that woman because you craved her wealth and status. You just wanted to live the high life.”
“I thank you for taking care of us all these years. But our time together has clearly come to an end. Just let us go!”
“If we have the destiny for it, we’ll be each other’s first and only in the next life!”
“Let go!”
Arthur let out a sharp, hysterical laugh. “Fine. Fine! ‘Dying early is for the best,’ and ‘husband and wife in the next life! You two really are cut from the same cloth. Pure, cold-blooded monsters!”
“I discussed it with you when I went after that wealth! You were the one who suggested it. You said you didn’t need a formal title, that you were willing to step aside for me. You were the one who plotted every step for me to get close to my wife!”
“You were the one who personally prepared the gifts and taught me how to win her over!”
“You were the one who wanted the riches, yet you have the nerve to blame me?”
“Everything you two ate, drank, and wore over the years-who do you think paid for it?”
“I sold myself out to support you two, to make sure you lived in luxury. And now you’re calling me greedy for status?
“You just see me as a cripple now! I’ve lost my legs and I’m useless to you, so you want to kick me to the curb!”
“Sylvia, you might be able to hide your little schemes from others, but you can’t hide them from me! You’ve already got another plan, don’t you? You’re looking for a new branch to cling to!”
Arthur’s words hit the nail right on the head.

Sylvia fell silent instantly.
Despite having a daughter as old as June, Sylvia wasn’t actually that old. She was only forty-two.
She was at the peak of her maturity and charm.
Because she had never worked a day of hard labor in her life, she was incredibly well-maintained. There wasn’t a single wrinkle on her face, and her skin was as smooth as a girl’s.
Coupled with those perpetually misty, vulnerable eyes, she had always been a magnet for men hiding behind cringey, self-important
usernames.
