Chapter 475
Chapter 475.
Josie Quinn looked at the man. Tine. When are you heading back?
Right now! he answered immediately, terrified someone else might steal the business. “Shall we go
As soon as he spoke, the others finally came to their senses, crowding forward to pitch themselves. “Miss, are you going to the Offical Base? I can take you! Our team is big and we have plenty of Supers. We can keep you safet
‘Don’t listen to his nonsense,” the first man argued back. “They might have a lot of Supers, but they’re all bow-tier. My tearn is smaller, but every single one of us is a Tier-4 Super! At a time like this, numbers don’t mean anything-it’s all about quality!”
“Beautiful…”
Josie didn’t have the patience for their bickering. She pointed at the first man. “You’ll do Lead the way.”
‘Yes’ Right away! The man was overjoyed. He called out to his teammates, and without a second thought, they abandoned their search for supplies. They fell into formation and began leading Josie back toward the city.
One bag of salt. Divided among them, it was worth more than the credits from ten scavenging missions. Any way they crunched the numbers, this was a massive win. Every member of the team followed with a grin on their face.
“So, beautiful, why are you out here alone?” the leader asked. He still wasn’t entirely at ease; he was terrified she might be a high-tier Undead trying to lure them out to be eaten. He started fishing for information.
“I’m not alone. My group came from Fort City.” Josie knew she would eventually have to deal with these people, so there was no point in hiding her background. More importantly, she had nothing to hide.
Everything was out in the open. She had enough strength to protect herself and her team, so she could afford to be transparent about her identity rather than lurking in the shadows. The strong didn’t need to hide anything.
“Fort City? That’s so far!” Everyone in the group was stunned. “Why would you come all the way here?”
“The earthquake. The tsunami,” Josie replied casually. “You didn’t have an earthquake here?”
“We did, but it wasn’t that bad. Just a bit of shaking and it was over,” the man replied. “We didn’t have many casualties. Why? Was it bad
over there?”
“The earthquake you felt was just the aftershock from the massive quake in our region. What do you think?” Josie shot him a look.
The group was instantly frozen in shock.
“What? An earthquake that far away could reach us? We’re thousands of miles apart!” the team members chattered among themselves. “How big does a quake have to be to affect somewhere this far?”
“Doomsday level,” Josie answered lazily. “If I haven’t guessed wrong, the coastal provinces are all gone.”
“What do you mean by ‘all gone?” someone asked curiously.
“I mean they’ve vanished completely. Like a chocolate bar with the edges snapped off. Do you get it now?” Josie glanced at them. “Alright, tell me about the Official Base. If I’m satisfied with the info, I’ll give you another bag of salt.”
At the mention of double pay, the team’s eyes lit up with greed. They didn’t even wait for Josie to ask questions; they all started talking at once, spilling everything they knew about the base.
“We’re in the Official Base, which is the largest base in Sierra City. We have about five million people”
