Doomsday Revenge: Payback Time (Josie) novel Chapter 540

< Chapter 540.

Chapter 540.

When the time comes, I’ll see if I have the strength to stand against them.

I will unite the Undead and the mutants to fight this external enemy together!

This is a war for the fate of the entire planet, not just humanity.

I intend to unite every sentient species on this world and fight to the bitter end!

If we still lose after all that, then it’s fate I’ll accept it.

But if we don’t even try, I won’t be able to live with myself!

Josie slammed her fist onto the table. She looked at the three base commanders and said, “So, the human side needs to unify first. To put it bluntly: don’t you dare stab me in the back. I’m going to find a way to save humanity. If you refuse to listen and insist on doing things your own way, then I’m out of options!”

As she spoke, her gaze drifted pointedly toward Malcolm.

Malcolm’s heart skipped a beat. He could tell Josie’s words were aimed directly at him.

Nadia was the first to speak up.”I’m in!”

Felix followed suit.”Me too!”

“Since no one has any objections, I’ll start making arrangements,” Josie declared.”I’ll have people monitor the geology and pick the best locations for cover. All Terrestrial and Metallic Supers are to report for duty immediately to build the Underground Sanctuary. Every human will be

moved inside.”

“We are temporarily abandoning the farms and ranches.”

“We need to shrink our range of activity as much as possible.”

“Time is short. Everyone will be treated equally. We’re all staying in Communal Barracks.”

“I don’t have time to listen to your complaints or nonsense. If you don’t agree with my terms, I will consider you outside of my protection!”

Josie raised her chin arrogantly. “Give up everything that isn’t essential. Of course, if you trust me, you can hand your resources over to me for safekeeping.”

“Fine. That’s all for today’s meeting.”

“Go back and get organized as quickly as possible. In ten days, I’ll come by to help collect the supplies!”

“Unless it’s urgent, do not disturb me!”

With that, Josie stood up and walked out.

She was truly busy.

She had to seize every second to advance.

Right now, she was still too weak. Only by reaching Tier-8 would she have even a shred of confidence.

The other three leaders simply nodded and hurried back to their respective bases.

If what Josie said was true, they really didn’t have a second to waste.

Six months would pass in the blink of an eye.

There was too much to do.

Malcolm returned to the Official Base. Looking at the still-prosperous streets, he found it incredibly hard to accept the truth.

In six months, would all of this really be turned to ash? Would it all cease to exist?

A

part of Malcolm wanted to hope it was a fluke, but his rational mind knew Josie wouldn’t lie about something like this. His good life was coming to an end.

As he returned to the Summit Villa, Malcolm heard a series of blood-curdling screams.

Recalling Josie’s meaningful look from earlier, Malcolm frowned.”What is June doing right now?” he asked his subordinate. “Base Commander, Miss June has been busy with her experiments lately,” the man replied.”She hasn’t been seen in days.” “What experiments?” Malcolm asked.

“The ones where she tries to strip other people’s superpowers and transfer them to herself.”
