Chapter 573.
They say an elder in the house is like a treasure.
Others had mocked Josie Quinn, claiming she had picked up a bunch of useless old people and children who did nothing but consprae
resources.
But only Josie knew just how valuable these elders were!
While most of them were from the Agri-Science Institute and specialized in agriculture, they had families, too. Their spouses weren’t exactly ignorant, either. In their circle, marriages were usually between equals. No spouse of an academician was a fool; they were all talents in their own right.
When these brilliant minds gathered, they could provide several research directions for any problem from multiple angles.
Josie truly hadn’t considered the angle of psionic energy.
June had likely been so “generous” in returning the box because she had tried every possible method to open it and failed. She had used it as a bargaining chip just to see Josie make a fool of herself.
Unfortunately for her, June was the only one who had become a joke.
he had forgotten that Josie now held absolute power-the power of life and death.
had also forgotten that Malcolm Monroe was not Arthur Quinn. To a man like Malcolm, betraying her for enough profit was as naturalas thing.
estoyed with the box in her hands and asked, “How do I use psionic energy on this?”
ou’d have to ask a Psychic Super. Do we have any in Sierra City?” someone asked.
don’t think so.”
Even if humans don’t have one, the Undead do! It should work the same way, right?
You mean Cyrus Finch? But who knows where he is right now?”
The moment the words left their mouth, a dull, heavy explosion echoed from the distance.
The ground beneath them trembled slightly.
Josie stood up instantly and appeared outside. “What happened?”
“A seismic wave was detected about a thousand kilometers away,” Sean Voss answered.”Based on the pattern and timing, someone must have detonated a massive amount of nuclear warheads underground. That was the shockwave.”
“Cyrus Finch?!” Josie realized immediately.”He’s moving fast!”
It seemed the previous detonation site hadn’t been destroyed by the earthquake. Otherwise, Cyrus wouldn’t have been able to move this quickly.
She needed to hurry up and pick up her own pace.
“It’s fine. Everyone get back to your posts and keep working,” Josie said with a wave of her hand.”We’ll wait until he gets back!”
With that, Josie locked herself in her room and began absorbing Undead Cores day and night to raise her level.
The sack of Undead Cores slowly dwindled.
These were all Tier-4 and Tier-5 Undead Cores; there wasn’t a single piece of Tier 3 trash among them. It was clear Julian Finch had been incredibly efficient lately-he was practically on a mission to wipe out every mid-level Undead in Sierra City.
