Chapter 58
This wasn’t just a warehouse. It was a damn kingdom of grain.
Massive silos sat on the ground like giant metal behemoths.
Countless trucks swarmed around them like ants on an elephant, looking like they were draining its lifeblood.
Now she knew why Zane needed her help.
If they relied on trucks alone, they’d be hauling stuff until the end of time.
Besides, those trucks didn’t run on air.
The amount of gas and diesel they’d burn through would be insane.
And time was a luxury they didn’t have.
Sure, the Undead were still Basic Tier right now. They weren’t much of a threat yet.
But the government had to know the truth: those things were evolving. Once they hit Tier–1 it was going to be a whole different game.
If they didn’t move this grain fast, they were screwed. Once the Tier–1 Undead surrounded the place, there was no getting it back
The lot next door was packed. It was wall–to–wall Undead, crammed in like sardines.
With humbers like that, a batch of Tier–ls was a ticking time bomb. They’d evolve any second.
Once they did, they’d be jumping and leaping over everything. They’d be on us in a heartbeat.
This place would turn into a playground for the Undead. Humans would lose control of it forever.
osie couldn’t help herself. She looked at Zane. “If there are so many of them next door, why not just drop a bomb and level the whole place?”
Zane stayed cool. That’s a chemical plant next door. There’s a massive toxic gas tank buried underground. Sure, a bomb kills the Undead, but it also hits
hat tank. Half of Fort City would be covered in a poison cloud before we could blink. We’d all be dead.”
osie let out a sharp laugh. Wow. Nice. You guys really know how to pick a spot!”
Enough talk, get to work‘ Zane snapped. Load up as much as you can. It’s all on you now.”
osie followed Zane into a massive warehouse. Inside, machines were humming, spitting out grain.
The power grid outside was already dead.
But the depot had its own backup generators and power grid. The lights were still on.
tow after row of conveyor belts were chugging away, dumping bags of grain onto the transport trucks waiting outside.
Even with all those belts running at full speed, they were barely making a dent.
The sheer scale of the reserves in this place was insane.
osie took a deep breath and stepped forward. She pressed her palm against a massive mountain of grain and gave the mental command: Store.
Zip. Just like that, the entire mountain vanished right in front of everyone.
The crew stood there, frozen.
Holy shit.
What the hell did they just see?
What kind of power level was this?
She cleared the entire sector of the warehouse in a single blink
Zane watched it happen and couldn’t help but clap. “Damn. Impressive. You got more in you?”
Yeah, I’m good, Josie said. She didn’t want to waste time dragging this out.
She was getting paid a flat fee for the gig, not an hourly rate. Making extra trips wasn’t going to put more money in her pocket.
Better to just get it over with

Josie headed to the next warehouse and reached out again.
She hit ten warehouses in a row. In less than an hour, she had locked away over a hundred million tons of food.
The food in her space was enough to feed half of Fort City!
Think about how insane that was.
Now, everyone was swarming Josie. They’d dropped everything they were doing.
Why?
