Eleven Years All to the Wrong Man novel Chapter 131

When Evan arrived at the office in the morning, Daniel happened to have just returned from Graymont City, bringing the good news that the branch's project proposal had been approved.

"See? It takes an expert to get things done!"

Daniel sat sprawled on the sofa in Evan's office, one leg crossed over the other, a smug look on his face.

Evan glanced at him, organized the signed contracts, and had someone take them away.

He got up, walked over to the water cooler, and took a small sip from his cup.

"Hey, I've been gone for a few days. How are things with you and Emma?" Daniel asked.

"Not great," Evan said flatly.

"Tch! What do you mean, 'not great'? Spit it out!"

Daniel stood up, annoyed, and walked over, snatching the cup from Evan's hand and setting it aside.

Evan shot him an icy glare, his voice as cold as steel. "I haven't been back home in days. She hasn't contacted me. Not a single message."

"So where are you staying?"

"Kingsbridge Park."

Daniel frowned. He suddenly remembered a friend sending him a video late one night a few days ago. It showed a girl walking into Evan's Kingsbridge Park residence.

His friend had asked him who the girl was.

Daniel hadn't known, so he'd forwarded it to Evan and, predictably, gotten no reply.

Thinking about it now, he had a bad feeling. "With who?"

"I mean, I've never thought we would actually get a divorce."

Evan truly had never considered divorcing Emma. Aside from the initial panic after they signed the divorce application, he had since calmed down. He knew that as long as one party changed their mind within the 30-day period, the divorce wouldn't be finalized. With that knowledge, he had regained his usual composure.

Daniel was completely baffled by his words.

His brow furrowed tightly. "I just don't get it, Evan! Your attitude and your actions make no sense! You don't want a divorce, but you're not doing anything to fix things, and you can't even break it off with your little fling. Dude, what are you trying to do? What the hell is your plan?!"

When Daniel first heard that Emma wanted to divorce Evan, he had felt sorry for his friend. He knew Evan truly loved Emma and couldn't live without her, so he'd hoped they could sit down and talk, and preferably not get divorced.

But now, seeing how Evan was handling things, Daniel was becoming more and more confused.

"Seriously, Evan, if you want to make things right with Emma, if you want to save your marriage, you need to cut ties with everyone else. Completely. I mean it," Daniel urged, his tone earnest.

But after his long speech, Evan simply said, "My relationship with Melissa isn't what you think it is."
