The zombies had all died in different ways, but it was obvious at a glance that they weren’t taken out by just one person.

The one thing every corpse had in common was the clean, decisive killing blow. Whoever did this possessed unbelievable skill.

Frank remained silent. He’d noticed this on his way back, but with things so urgent, he hadn’t had the luxury to dwell on it.

Now that his teammate was voicing the same confusion, he could rule out the possibility that these zombies had been killed by people from Maple Base.

The corpses were clearly fresh. Some of the dark red blood hadn’t even dried yet. A thought suddenly flashed through his mind.

If that’s really the case…

He glanced at the cars behind them.

Frank clenched his fists, feeling a surge of excitement.

If these zombies had really been killed by that group of people, then with their help, the chances of rescuing their commander would be much higher.

They ran into plenty more zombies on the way to the subway station. However, everyone was desperate to save the trapped people. They simply broke through and sped away. No time to waste on those things.

Looking at the zombies chasing behind them with their tongues hanging out, Dylan said calmly, “Do you guys get the feeling these zombies are different from the ones we’ve run into before?”

Ella nodded with a heavy expression. “Yeah, especially that Level 2 zombie we just passed. It seemed much stronger than the Level 2 zombies we’ve fought before.”

She looked down at the car door beside her. Five deep claw marks had been gouged into the sturdy car door. It had almost punched through and hit the people inside.

This wasn’t the kind of strength a normal Level 2 zombie should have.

“Kapitol lives up to its reputation,” Klay said, narrowing his eyes. “Even the zombies here are stronger than the ones in other places.”
