The four people’s faces were ashen, drained of color, as if they had just endured unspeakable agony. Meanwhile, the remaining six lay sprawled, their bodies motionless.
As she studied them closely, a chill ran through her. Their bones appeared shattered and splintered, which explained their limp, lifeless positions.
"Wake up, you weaklings!" Xiao Li shouted, slapping each of them in turn.
Shenlian Yingyue hesitated, her mind racing.
"Damn it! If the Lord finds out how you’ve treated us, you’ll regret it!" one of the men in black growled, gasping through the pain as he shifted slightly.
(I switched from Miss to Lord; it adds a better sense of authority.)
"We’ll inform the Lord about everything! Let’s see how long you can cling to life!" His threat dripped with venom.
"Return the beast to us!" It became clear to them that this woman was the root of their current ordeal. They felt an unsettling disconnection from their beasts.
If the Lord were made aware, she wouldn’t hesitate to kill them. They understood the Lord’s brutal nature—failure meant certain death, and they had to eliminate this woman and bring the man back or their own heads would roll.
A palpable intensity filled the air as the ten men rallied, their determination rekindled by desperation.
Shenlian Yingyue remained still. The power they wielded was insignificant compared to hers; she had surpassed them immensely. Yet, her thoughts spun, caught in a dilemma of how to address this situation. She could not allow them to escape and relay their findings to Sikong Yanya.
The ten seemed to channel their waning strength. Three of the Core Formation masters lunged towards her, poised to self-destruct in a final bid to take her down with them. They had no hope of survival; instead, sacrificing themselves to eliminate her seemed their only salvation.
{Master, you must kill them! They’re about to self-destruct!} Xiao Lan’s urgency resonated in her mind.
Shenlian Yingyue had never taken a life; however, if her survival hinged on such a drastic action, she recognized the need for ruthlessness.
With a deep breath, she materialized before the trio. Failing to act would mean her demise. The destructive force of their self-explosion was incomprehensible and could easily obliterate even a Nascent Soul Master, let alone the three Core Formation Masters preparing to detonate simultaneously!
As the men sneered, anticipating her panic, their expressions shifted to disbelief as they opened their eyes wide in shock.
With unerring precision, Shenlian Yingyue unleashed her spiritual scarlet fire, piercing through the hearts and Dantians of the three men. Their bodies collapsed to the ground, lifeless and still. Blood splattered across her, staining her once-pure white hair crimson.
Though hidden beneath her black cloak, the impact of her actions was felt; the remaining men were paralyzed in shock at how easily their comrades fell to her.
"Get up and kill her, you worthless fools!" The fury of the two Nascent Soul Masters rang through the stillness, a desperate command to the five remaining men.
"Ahhhhhhhh!!!" they screamed as they attempted to counter, but sharp pain erupted within their divine senses, overwhelming and excruciating.
Shenlian Yingyue had no clear understanding of their affliction. The five surged toward her, but before they could initiate their self-destruct, she deftly pierced their vital spots with her spiritual fire.
"Bang! Bang!" Echoing explosions marked their demise as they fell, their expressions shifting to serene acceptance in their final moments. As they gazed at her with gratitude, a wave of confusion washed over Shenlian Yingyue. Why would they look at her that way?
"Waste! All Waste!!!" The fury of the two Nascent Soul Masters was palpable, their eyes burning with a merciless light. They yearned to devour Shenlian Yingyue, consumed by their anger.
"Failed?" A melodic, yet chilling voice suddenly echoed in the air, catching everyone off guard.
