"It’s true. Life isn’t always a walk in the park." Dongfang Moqing stretched out his hand to hold hers. His slender, jade-like fingers wrapped around her slender wrist. His skin was slightly paler than hers.
"What are you doing?" She was startled and wanted to withdraw her hand, but he held her wrist tightly. His strength didn’t hurt her.
"But what happened to your face? Since when did the Witchcraft clan become so reckless?" His expression remained faint, yet the dark light flickering in his eyes was unmistakable. It was as if his eyes contained a storm as he stared at her face.
"Do you know where the Witchcraft clan is?" Her eyes sparkled, and she forgot to struggle out of his arms.
Diyu, who had been about to rush and pull Dongfang Moqing away from her, paused slightly under her gesture.
"The Witchcraft Clan changed their location five years ago. They’re not in this Yellow Planet. There may be some witchcraft practitioners here, but they’re just a small group." As Dongfang Moqing stroked her face, those strange inscriptions disappeared slightly.
Her face returned to its flawless state.
"How did you do that?" She was shocked, seeing her own reflection in his golden and indigo eyes.
"In the past, I used to fight with the people from the Witchcraft clan. I got cursed, and I forced them to reverse the curse and restore me to normal. I’ve learned some spells from them," Dongfang Moqing said, hugging her in his arms.
He had seen his grandfather hugging his grandmother like this before. He wondered what it felt like. As it turned out, it felt warm and comfortable.
"Then, can you lift the curse on him?" She suddenly pulled Diyu out of the shadows.
Dongfang Moqing raised an eyebrow. He had sensed someone was there, but because this person had no ill intentions, he thought this person was her secret guard and didn’t reveal himself.
Diyu pulled her back into his arms, the intense jealousy obvious.
Dongfang Moqing curled his lips. Interesting, he had been away for two years, and she had attracted another admirer.
Shenlian Yingyue didn’t notice the spark between the two men. She removed Diyu’s mask and revealed him to Dongfang Moqing.
Seeing the strange inscriptions on Diyu’s face, Dongfang Moqing remained silent.
Diyu put his mask back on.
"I can’t help you with this. The curse spell on your face is a low-level spell. Any person who learns witchcraft spells can lift it. But he was cursed by someone with a high-level spell," Dongfang Moqing said after examining Diyu.
Shenlian Yingyue looked slightly disappointed.
Diyu didn’t feel hopeless. He hadn’t expected anything from the start.
"Do you know where those people are now?" She didn’t let go of any small details.
"He might know," Dongfang Moqing glanced at Diyu.
"I’ve checked everywhere on this continent, but they seem to have disappeared into thin air," Diyu said, frustrated.
"Only a predestined person can reach that forest," Dongfang Moqing said lightly.
"Either you are a calamity that the world must eliminate or you’re the luckiest star that’s been favored by heaven – this way, you can get into that forest." Dongfang Moqing continued.
"Then it’s easy," Shenlian Yingyue said with a grin, her upset face lightening up.
The two men were puzzled.
"Just leave everything to me; I’ll make sure to reach that forest," she said confidently, beating her chest with determination.
Seeing such a lively version of her, Dongfang Moqing’s lips curved into a faint smile. She had changed a lot since he last saw her. But he liked her change.
"Yue’er, I’ll go with you," Diyu said, not wanting her to suffer from those people anymore.
