"Don’t inform them of my return; I will leave soon. I want to travel the world and enjoy my life," Ji Fulin said, thinking of his grandfather, his parents, and everyone in his family.
His expression darkened. His parents had many children; without him, they should be fine.
"Young master, please don’t be like this. Everyone is worried about you. Your brothers and sisters miss you every day," the butler implored, visibly anxious.
Ji Fulin remained silent but smiled. However, the smile never reached his eyes. Years of living in the royal family had taught him much.
What about the saying that blood is thicker than water? In the end, what they truly cared about was the benefit he could bring them. Brothers and sisters? They all secretly wished for his demise so they could inherit his wealth.
He suspected that the accident that had nearly cost him his life years ago was somehow linked to his siblings.
They spoke for a long time while Shenlian Yingyue, Huang Bai Xing, and Xie Xie sat quietly, listening intently.
Shenlian Yingyue and Huang Bai Xing listened but did not interject.
Shenlian Yingyue listened Ji Fulin’s story silently. It turned out he had died in a car crash that year.
Coincidentally, she too had died in a car accident while saving Xiao Yun. Was this just a coincidence? Were car accidents so common these days? This felt like something out of a Hollywood movie.
As she pondered this, the others in the small world exchanged helpless glances.
"Are they your friends, young master?" the butler asked, sensing he could not change Ji Fulin’s mind. He decided to shift the conversation, picking up on Ji Fulin’s somber mood.
He finally focused on the three individuals who looked as if they had stepped out of a comic book. Their beauty was stunning, and the butler found himself in awe. How could anyone be born so beautiful?
"They are my friends," Ji Fulin replied with a nod, declining to elaborate.
"Young master, your long hair looks wonderful on you. Your style is very different from the noble young masters of today. You resemble a prince from an ancient royal clan," the butler remarked, admiring Ji Fulin’s hair. He chose to praise rather than criticize, offering encouragement instead.
Everyone couldn’t help but twitch their lips, thinking: Who could possibly tell the butler that Ji Fulin really was a prince of the royal clan?
"Uncle, the reason I’m back this time is to visit you, but I also need your help," Ji Fulin said as he shifted the topic.
"Please speak, young master!" The butler nodded in response.
"I would like you to contact Young Miss Jun and arrange a meeting with her. Also, please ensure that my arrival remains a secret," Ji Fulin expressed, aware that he had no authority here and would need to leverage the Ji family’s influence.
While he could acquire power at any time, he had no desire to associate with the people here anymore, preferring not to leave any trace of himself. Once he had Jin’er, he would leave this place.
The real challenge, however, was figuring out how to meet Jin’er. Her whereabouts were unknown, and he couldn’t simply show up at Jun Castle and ask to see her without raising suspicion.
"This might be difficult," the butler replied, frowning. "I’ve heard rumors that Young Miss Jun is extremely averse to the touch of men. She has no male friends, and the only man who can approach her is her brother, Jun Mu Yang."
He continued, "Recently, a wealthy young man proposed to her and visited her at the castle. He was severely beaten and kicked out. From the beginning, she has rejected all blind dates and dinner invitations from men." The butler rubbed his neck, which seemed to feel cold.
"A few days ago, several young masters brought her flowers and tried to coerce her into spending the night with them. She retaliated by destroying their cars, burning down their clubs, and commanding her bodyguards to beat them and throw them onto the street, naked. Their humiliation was quite something... cough..." The butler coughed, his face turning pink with embarrassment.
