**Chapter 76: Zora’s Dirty Laundry Goes Public**
Cindy’s gaze was fixed on Darcy, who wore an expression of unshakeable confidence. It was infuriating, and yet, there was something undeniably captivating about it.
In an involuntary moment of irritation, another smug face flitted through Cindy’s mind—her brother’s.
“Tsk. You know, that smile of yours… it’s just like my brother’s!” she squinted, unable to suppress the playful jab.
Darcy blinked in surprise. Really? Was she being compared to Mr. Blackwood? The man seemed so gentle, so polite, so refined in every way.
Cindy, feeling a wave of relief wash over her, was convinced that Darcy had a plan. She stood up, ready to leave, when a notification on her phone caught her eye.
Someone had sent her a video, and her curiosity piqued instantly.
The clip appeared to show Zora—the legitimate girlfriend—confronting the side chick in a rather intense manner.
With a swift tap, she opened the video and felt her breath hitch in her throat.
Isn’t that Zora?
Without a moment’s hesitation, Cindy dashed back to Darcy’s side, her eyes gleaming with excitement. “Come on! It’s tea time!”
“Hmm?” Darcy looked puzzled. Tea time? What was she talking about?
Cindy pressed play on the video, cranked up the volume, and both women leaned in closer to the screen, anticipation buzzing in the air.
“Zora! You homewrecker, get out here!”
“You shameless witch, flirting with my boyfriend under that ‘PhD’ halo-casting bait everywhere, collecting guys like you’re raising fish! Do you think every man in Aethelburg is just another fish in your tank?”
“Everyone, listen! This bitch not only seduced my boyfriend, but she also made him pull strings for her! It cost him his job, got him fired, and blacklisted in the whole industry! And she gets to walk away scot-free!”
“Today, I’m tearing that pretty mask off so you all see who you hang around with every day!”
The video abruptly cut off there, just as police officers entered and escorted the woman away. The crowd that had gathered began to disperse quickly, murmurs of disbelief filling the air.
Cindy clicked her tongue in disbelief. “Zora is something else. Going to such lengths for a project. What’s she after? That jerk Zane? She’s completely delusional!”
Darcy paused, contemplating her words. “What that woman in the video said might not be the whole truth. She could just be venting because Bex got fired.”
“Yeah, maybe.” Cindy shrugged, standing up with a nonchalant air. “But honestly, we don’t care about the truth. We’re just here for the drama.”
Once Cindy departed, Darcy remained seated, lost in her thoughts for a moment.
If Zora was really like that… what would Zane do?
“And his girlfriend is blind and stupid. It’s obvious he was the one pursuing you. What reason would you have to seduce him? He’s punching way above his weight.”
“Don’t worry. The police took her away. I’ll have our legal team sue her for spreading false rumors.”
At his words, Zora immediately pulled back from their embrace, wiping her tears with the back of her hand. “Suing isn’t necessary. Bex lost his job because he tried to help me. I still owe him for that. His girlfriend misunderstood me. I don’t blame her. She’s just too hurt and can’t accept it. Let’s just drop it.”
“Zora, you’re too kind. That’s why people take advantage of you,” Zane sighed, a hint of frustration in his voice.
“Alright. If you don’t want to owe that guy, I won’t pursue his girlfriend for slander. She can write an apology letter on a public platform and blast it across the net for you.”
“Okay.” Zora nodded, feeling a wave of relief wash over her.
The moment she stepped out of Zane’s office, however, her expression hardened.
Bex, that useless man. He couldn’t even manage his own girlfriend, yet he dared to flirt with her.
She had been blind to his flaws!
Thankfully, Zane didn’t suspect a thing.
As she made her way downstairs toward her office, Zora’s phone rang, breaking her thoughts. It was Kaia.
