Britney stared at Damian, puzzled.

‘Did he just try to call me… Mrs. Pollard?’ Britney wondered.

Damian put on a sheepish grin. “I mean, it was so ridiculous it almost made me laugh. This whole mess has nothing to do with

you, so why are you apologizing? It’s just those two idiots, total bad luck. That’s all.”

He awkwardly switched the subject.

Britney hadn’t quite caught what he said at first, but after hearing Damian’s explanation, her confusion faded away.
