Ex Wife's Collapse After Divorce novel Chapter 105

Chapter 105

Vivian’s lips parted.

Ethan didn’t stop.

“I used to be in pain because of your betrayal,” he said. “Now I can see it clearly. You’re not just disloyal. You’re a complete mess. You can’t even tell right from wrong.”

His voice dropped, each word harder than the last. “I’d rather stay single for the rest of my life than ever get back together with you!”

Vivian’s face turned white.

Then red.

“You-”

She laughed once, sharp and furious. “You dare talk to me like that? You started attacking me now?”

“What right do you have to say any of this?” she shot back. “You were a live-in husband. A man living off his wife. That’s what you were.”

“You think you’re attractive? You had no charm at all. Not even a little!”

The words were still hanging in the air when a knock came at the door.

Three light taps. Polite. Almost musical.

Ethan turned and walked to the door without a word, grateful for the interruption.

He pulled it open.

Chloe stood in the hallway, a bouquet of fresh flowers in one arm and a fruit basket in the other.

Her dark hair was loose tonight, and the warm bronze of her skin caught the hallway light. The exotic beauty that had been subtle in the dim bar was unmistakable now.

She smiled when she saw him, then faltered slightly when she noticed the bruise on his cheek.

“Am I interrupting?” she asked.

“No,” Ethan said. “You’re not.”

Chloe let out a small breath of relief. “Good. I came to thank you properly-for helping me the other night at the bar. I didn’t get the chance before.”

Ethan smiled faintly, the first real softness in his expression since Vivian had arrived. He reached out naturally, took the bouquet from her, then the fruit basket.

That one simple movement cut across Vivian like a knife.

A moment ago, her own flowers and fruit had been left untouched on the side like garbage.

Her eyes locked on Chloe.

“Who is this woman?” she asked sharply. “Another one of your lovers?”
