He nodded. “I will pass this message to Kaitlyn and Andres, but you still need to keep working hard on your job. Although you have wasted a few years, you’ve got a solid foundation. I still hope you’ll make it as a director.”

“Your future success will outshine mine,” Everett said, his eyes lighting up again. His chubby cheeks jiggled.

“Both you and Andres are talented. You…” In the middle of his heartfelt words, Everett caught sight of Andres out of the side of his eye.

He suddenly stopped, and Keira followed his gaze.

Andres still wore a dark suit, with a cold, detached look that hinted at authority.

There was an awkward silence. Not knowing what else to say, Everett jumped in, “Keep chatting, you guys. I’ll go and see how Markus is doing.”

He did not give Keira any chance to refuse. Despite not being young anymore, he moved with steady and quick steps.

Keira was both amused and frustrated. Even though she had been clear in her words and Everett had understood, it seemed now he still needed to give an account to Kaitlyn.

After Everett had gone far away, Andres slowly approached. He stood in the shadow, his gaze deep.

Keira couldn’t help frowning, puzzled about how he got the idea she wanted to make up.

She didn’t feel like talking to him, so she turned to leave, but Andres grabbed her wrist.

“Keira, that’s enough. I love you, so I wouldn’t resort to any tricks to force you to give in. But if you keep acting this way unreasonably, I can’t promise what I might do.”

She turned around, expressionless, and said, “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

Keira struggled with her wrist, but she couldn’t break free.

“Let go!” Her voice was icy cold.

Her eyes were chilly. She looked really detached, making Andres hesitate.

“Andres, what’s going on with you guys? Did you have a fight?”

A sweet voice suddenly sounded behind, giving Keira goosebumps all over her body.

Marlee stood in the patch of light and shadow. She was still wearing her usual light-colored long

dress. For the audition, her slightly curly hair was straightened. It made her look even more gentle and obedient.

“Why is she here?” wondered Keira.
