Nameless Death clicked his tongue.
She was right about that.
He had been thinking of building an incomplete Path, then he would slowly upgrade it as he regained his memories.
’But building a complete Path from the start is better.’
Complete, huh?
The Path Nameless Death had in mind could never be completed. That exactly was why it would be strong.
Still, regaining his memories would help him solidify the foundations of the Path. The Path would ’grow’ faster with a strong foundation.
"How are you going to return me my memories?"
"Return your memories?" she smirked. "Who said I was going to do that?"
Nameless Death’s brows creased. He was starting to get irritated by this woman.
She chuckled, and said, "Come with me, and you will know what I meant."
She flew towards the Sea of All Consciousness—
"Stop calling this place with that name," she snapped as she flew ahead of him.
"So you can read my mind."
"I can’t," she said. "I’m reading your Flame."
"Flames?"
She didn’t answer.
Perhaps she might’ve normally answered him, but given the fact he had repeatedly called this place Sea of All Consciousness, he had pissed her, even if he had said the name in his mind only.
’Damn you Ultris!’ she shouted in her mind.
Ultris had been the one to give name to ’this place’.
This place had Flames and that bastard gave this place the name of ’Sea’.
Okay, the Flames did look like a sea given their nigh infinite number.
But this place did not contain Consciousness! And yet it was now called Sea of All Consciousness!
That bloody bastard gave this place an incorrect name for shits and giggles, and now the name was stuck to the identity of this place as he, one of the strongest people called it as such.
’He really liked to mess with everyone,’ she grinded her teeth.
For Gods, the Stages went from Stage 1 (lowest) to Stage 9 (highest). Even the Levels went from Level 1 (lowest) to Level 10 (highest).
But Grade went from Grade 5 (lowest) to Grade 1 (highest).
Why was the number progression opposite for Grades?
Originally, Grades for Gods also went from Grade 1 (lowest) to Grade 5 (highest).
But then came the bastard named Ultris.
He created the Path of Awakeners, and in that Path, Awakeners went from Grade 5 (lowest) to Grade 1 (highest).
Over time, more and more people became Awakeners.
It created a huge confusion.
For some (non-Awakener Gods), their Grade went from Grade 1 (lowest) to Grade 5 (highest).
For others (Awakener Gods), their Grade went Grade 5 (lowest) to Grade 1 (highest).
When the confusion became too much, the Universal Civilizations finally decided to change the ranking system name, and made all Grades go from Grade 5 (lowest) to Grade 1 (highest). freeweɓnovel.cøm
The Universal Civilization accepted their defeat, and changed the order of rank names.
They knew Ultris had purposefully chosen the reverse order of rank names just to mess with the Universal Civilizations, but what could they do?
"Go visit and observe all those locations and people," she said as she guided his hand towards the Sword Flame.
Before he could reply, she added, "I’m going to send your mind to another Cosmos. Don’t resist."
Nameless Death nodded.
He believed her words, not because he trusted her but because she couldn’t harm him in this space.
Something told him that the moment she tried to do anything to him, she would be attacked. That the darkness would protect him.
’Maybe it’s because I’m the Loved One of Darkness.’
It must be Darkness the Witch of Greed saw when she tried to coerce him into making a deal.
’But if Darkness is here, why won’t she talk to me?’
Nameless Death was surprised by his thoughts. Why did he think that Supreme of Darkness was a woman?
"Stop thinking about useless things and focus on the feeling in your hand," said the Witch of Greed.
Nameless Death nodded. He closed his eyes and focused on his palm that was touching the Sword Flame.
Immediately, he felt a lurch. He was yanked forward.
The last thing he saw was his head being smashed into the Sword Flame.
After feeling a strange vertigo that felt as short as an instant but as long as eternity, he opened his eyes in a lavish office.
The headache and vertigo disappeared, allowing him to look around properly.
"Where am I?"
His gaze turned to the woman who was sitting in the office. She had ash-white hair, and blood-red eyes.
She seemed to be going through a set of documents.
’Why does she.... feel familiar?’
