Fake Dating My Ex's Hockey Star Brother (Maya Scott) novel Chapter 205

Chapter 65

ALLISON’S POV

“What makes you think you can just threaten me?”

I bite into a carrot, phone wedged between my shoulder and ear, while I rifle through my closet with my free hand. “I’m not threatening you. I just… asked you to stop blackmailing people and, you know, return everything you’ve taken from them.”

There’s a pause, then Black’s voice floats out. “How much are you getting paid for this?”

“I’m not-”

“I can double it. Let’s meet up.”

I chuckle, pulling out my nightdress. “You want us to meet up? You must think I’m stupid.” I shove the last

bit of carrot into my mouth, chewing loud enough for him to hear. “Look, I’m not forcing you to do what I

said. Just know you’ve got three days before I pay a visit to your dad.”

Silence stretches on the line for a few seconds.

“I will find you,” he warns. “Cadston isn’t big enough for you to hide. You have three days to back the fuck

off.”

I grab my phone tighter. “Black, screw you. Even if you find me, I’m not the only one who knows about this so don’t be stupid. Make up your mind and text me when you do.”

I hang up, tossing the phone onto my bed. Black really thinks I’m gonna tremble and beg if he threatens me. Please. I wouldn’t be surprised if he calls back in a few hours for round two because he’s scared stiff

of his dad.

I drag my panties on in front of the mirror, then grab my laptop from the desk. My course work is piling up, even with Katy swooping in and doing half my stuff for me. She has my passwords, so sometimes I log in

and see she’s finished my assignments, which honestly makes her an absolute darling.

I’m just about to settle into bed when a sharp knock at the door freezes me mid-movement and I frown.

Lately, people have been knocking on our door way more than usual. If it’s not Braydon, it’s his little pit-of-hell brother and if it’s not Bryan, then maybe Justin… and David’s not even off the table yet. But right now, the real question is: who the hell is at the door?

Braydon’s with Katy in her room, and I highly doubt Bryan would show his face here after that stunt he

pulled. So… Justin?

With a groan, I drag myself to the door and yank it open.

“Took you long enough,” Justin snaps, grabbing my wrist and quickly pulling the door close behind him.

“Hey, let go!” I try to push him off, but he’s already tugging me down the hallway. “Are you seriously

kidnapping me right now?”

“Call it whatever you want,” he says, not slowing down or even blinking at the couple of people staring as

we pass. Before I can really register it, he’s shoving me into his car.

“I’ve never been kidnapped like this, in a night dress,” I mutter as he starts the engine. “Not that I’ve been kidnapped at all, but you do realize this is… wrong, right?”

“As wrong as you running off in a taxi?” he fires back, eyes fixed on the road.

Justin’s kind of terrifying when he’s angry, but tonight… he’s not as scary as he usually is.

“You were taking my mom’s side. How could you do that?”

“I wasn’t.”

“Yes, you were.” I glare at him. “She’s always talking down on me, and the least you could’ve done was

walk away with me when I wanted to leave.”

“And you realize that’s going to come back and bite us in the ass?” he asks.

I narrow my eyes. “How? Scared she’s going to spank you or something? Trust me, as someone who has-”

“She’s still your mom, and someday, I might have to sit down with her and tell her I want to spend the rest

of my life with her daughter.” The words in my mouth die and I lock eyes with him for a second. “You’re stubborn, Allison. I’m not saying she’s the best mom in the world either, but… some people don’t even get the luxury of calling anyone mom.”

I slouch back in the seat, staring at the road ahead. Part of me is frozen because he just casually talked about spending the rest of his life with me, and another part is because he has this uncanny way of pissing me off with how… mature he is. I can’t tell which is worse.

“Are you sulking?” he asks, breaking the silence. “Because technically, I’m supposed to be mad at you. And I am.”

I fold my arms across my chest. “Where are you taking me? I didn’t even bring my phone.”

“Deal with it,” he says, swerving sharply into the street leading up to his apartment.

“Are you trying to kill me?” I snap, clutching the edge of my seat.

“Maybe you should remember to wear a seatbelt,” he fires back without missing a beat.

I scoff. “I swear, you’re impossible and annoying sometimes.”

“You’re always impossible and annoying.”

“But you still want me.” I bite back.

“Yeah, I do,” he says, gaze darting on mine again. “Doesn’t change that you’re annoying as hell.”

The car slows in front of his apartment, and he kills the engine. He stares at me for a beat, then shakes his head.

“Out,” he orders. “Or you can sleep in here.”

Before I can tell him I’d rather stay put, he’s already out of the car and the way he lowers his head to peek through the window makes it clear he’ll actually leave me here after dragging me out of my dorm. No thanks, I’m not sleeping in his car.

I yank the door open and storm out, not giving him a second to catch up. I march toward his apartment, fuming, and of course, he’s right behind me, unlocking the door and letting me in.

He shuts the door behind him and immediately starts peeling off his jacket, tossing it onto the couch.

“What are you doing?” I ask, narrowing my eyes.

He kicks off his shoes and lines them up neatly in his corner. “Don’t worry,” he says, “With that attitude of yours, I have no intentions of making you cu.m tonight.”

The nerve of this guy.

“I wasn’t asking for that.” I close the distance, and jab my finger at him. “You’re the one who dragged me here, so don’t act like this wasn’t your plan.”

“I brought you here so we could talk without interrupting my oh-so emotionally stable sister.”

“Is that a jab at me?” I almost screech, my eyes wide. “I can’t believe this.”

“Did you think I’d clap for you after you ditched me?” he demands. “It was supposed to be a date.”
