Chapter 66
LUCIEN’S POINT OF VIEW.

One moment she’s on a call with someone, and the very next, she falls. She just drops, straight into my arms, as her eyes flutter shut, and her body goes
limp in my hold.
My heart drops with her, along with every ficking fibre of my being, as my mind races with the urge to protect what’s mine. My hands caress her cheeks
softly, as I call out;
‘Sloane? There’s no answer, not even a stir, as her eyes remain shut, and her body limp. “Sunshine, wake up, I call for her again, but it’s the same as before,
because she doesn’t even stir.
*Back the fuck up.”I snarl at them as their hands dart out to touch her. Serapjina stands frozen by my side, as Sloane lies limp in my arms.
“Did she just faint?” Someone whispers from beside me as all of them stare at her like she’s something strange.
“Attention whore. The girl beside Cassian whispers low, thinking I wouldn’t catch it, but I did.
*If anyone says anything again, I swear you ll be having blood for breakfast,” I said, running out of the hall.
Heading to my private doctor’s office in school, I kick the door open, not minding the sla against the wall. He stares up at me in shock before rising
immediately at the sight of Sloane in my arms.
“Help her, now!” I growled, placing her on the bed. He jumps into action immediately, as he pulls his stethoscope from his neck and examines her.
My heart traces, clenches, and does all kinds of acrobatics as I stare at her, my eyes not straying from the gentle rise and fall of her chest. It was the only thing letting me know she was still alive, still here, mine.
My mind races as it conjures different images. The last time I’d seen someone like this, she died.
My mother fucking died.
All I allowed myself to remember about that dreadful day was her chest rising and falling as doctors rushed to her side in a frenzy. She had overdosed on cocaine and heroin that night, but no one fucking knew, except me.
I remembered the sight of her mouth foaming as her eyes rolled to her head. Tha very night, I knew hospitals were the worst things. My mother came in
alive and left in a fucking casket.
Sloane would be different…..she would, I swear it. I’d do anything to get her to leave alive today… anything at all.
“Please.” My hands trembled at my sides as I prayed to whatever being out there save her. I watched pensive as he pulled out an IV drip
“Stay with me, sunshine. Please, I’ll do anything.”
My chest feels like it’s splitting in two as I stare at her. My mind feels heavy, as y tongue tastes bitter. Bile rises in my throat, but I stitle the urge to
vomit, not until she wakes up.
Not until her beautiful blue eyes stare at me in the way that makes my heart race and my cock harden. I’ve watched her from the shadows for years now, holding back until it was the perfect time to make her mine, until I could put a finger on what happens to my being when I see her, smell her, feel her.
I taunted her for years, because there was no other way for me to speak to her like a normal fucking human, because I’m anything but fucking normal.

I’ve watched the way she fights back when everyone wants her silent, and accepting of their attacks, the way she carries her fire in a body Roxanne taunted,
while secretly getting injections to look like her.. I stalked her, followed her, memorized the sway of her walk, the tremble of her lips when she bites them in
class. I know the way she likes to tuck her hair behind her ear when she gets shy the way her fists clench at her sides when she’s holding back, the way she
bites her lips in a bid to hide her moans from me, the way she never cries where anyone can see.
