Now everyone understood.
Sabrina was angry because her daughter had to give up her room.
So, she was taking it out on the staff.
But since the order came from Martin, and the staff had always preferred Lillian, the true Mercer daughter, they got to work immediately.
Sabrina had assumed that if she, a pregnant woman, threw a fit, the staff would understand her intentions and call Martin to discuss it.
She never expected them to just start moving her daughter's things out of the room.
Several of them stood waiting and asked her, "Ma'am, should we move Bella's things to a guest room?"
Sabrina was so furious she could have burst. The Mercer mansion was large, but it only had so many main bedrooms.
The only unoccupied one was the old matriarch's room.
Even though she was in a coma and no longer lived at home, no one dared to use that room.
Lately, Sabrina had been thinking about converting one of the guest rooms. Her walk-in closet just wasn't big enough.
But she never imagined that before she could make a move, her own daughter would be relocated to one of those rooms.
"Move them. Move everything to a guest room. Where else would you put her things? In the staff quarters?"
The staff lowered their heads and said nothing.
Fuming, Sabrina stormed back to her room to sulk.
She and her mother had moved in after Lillian went to prison.
They had become quite comfortable here.
Hearing this news now felt like a catastrophe.
Lillian and her mother were enemies.
If she moved back in, would there be any peace for them?
Sabrina was just as upset, her breathing uneven.
"That jinx... I guess she got what she deserved. I heard she's seriously ill, on the verge of death. The elder Blakes couldn't bear the thought of her dying alone outside, so they wanted to take her back to the Blake estate to recover. But she had the nerve to refuse.
