Sabrina was essential for the live stream, but they needed to deliver a truly impactful performance.
Only a powerful performance could attract viewers, sway public opinion, and turn the tide.
If they couldn't even manage that, the whole thing would be a waste of time and make them a laughingstock.
By 8:40, Sabrina was on the verge of collapse. She had managed to memorize some of her lines, but she'd slept too little the night before, woken up too early, and hadn't eaten any breakfast. The script she was holding slipped from her hand, and a wave of dizziness washed over her, nearly sending her to the floor.
Luckily, Martin was right beside her as she paced and recited her lines, and he quickly caught her.
Bella rushed over, concerned. "Mom, what's wrong? Are you okay?"
Sabrina took a moment to recover. "I think… I have low blood sugar."
Bella quickly looked around. "Does anyone have any candy or chocolate? Even a small snack would help."
Turning to Martin, she added, "Ever since the miscarriage, Mom's health hasn't been the same. The doctor said that at her age, recovery is much slower than it is for younger people.
I should have made sure the kitchen prepared something for her this morning."
Hearing this, Martin was filled with self-reproach. "This is all my fault. I was so focused on getting her here early that I forgot the most important thing.
Sabrina, just hang in there. They're looking for something to eat, and I'll have my secretary go buy you breakfast right now."
The head of public relations returned with some chocolate he’d gotten from a colleague outside.
But hearing what Martin said, he couldn't help but remind him, "We have less than fifteen minutes until the live stream, Chairman. There's really no time for breakfast."
Martin snapped, "So what if there's no time? Look at her. How is she supposed to do a live stream if she doesn't eat?"
