After taking Bella to preschool, Emilia seemed much more like her usual self.
But Theodore still assigned a bodyguard to her.
“She will only appear when necessary,” Theodore said, bringing the woman to stand before Emilia. “You won't even notice her presence otherwise.”
Emilia looked at the woman and nodded at her. “Thank you for your help.”
The woman nodded back, gave Theodore a slight bow, and then turned to leave.
“This is just for now. If you find someone you trust later, just let me know,” Theodore added.
He knew that overstepping might make her feel watched or controlled.
This was just a transitional measure to prevent Tyler from having another breakdown.
Even though he had heard from Joyce that Tyler, while not having any broken bones, would be in a wheelchair for a while.
He still had to take precautions.
He couldn’t let anything happen to her again.
Emilia understood what Theodore meant. She smiled and said, “I get it.”
With everything arranged, their lives slowly began to return to normal.
The concert was only a few days away. She had handled many things through online communication and had Christian manage things in person. These next few days, she needed to be on-site.
Just as she was thinking about it—
*Buzz.*
Emilia’s phone vibrated. She picked it up and glanced at the screen.
It was a message from Felix.
[My meetings are over. I’ve been looking into the Vivienne matter recently.]
[It’s a bit complicated and will take some time, but I have a few leads. Emilia, I’ll explain everything in detail when I get back.]
Emilia frowned slightly as she read the message.
It seemed like Felix had discovered something.
But what did he mean by complicated?
Emilia wasn't sure.
But, just as Felix said, everything would become clear once he returned.
