Alden City.
It was broad daylight.
Emilia opened her eyes and saw Theodore lying beside her.
He had woken up before her. Noticing her stir, he smiled.
"You're awake," he said.
Emilia nodded.
She remembered how things had almost gotten out of hand the previous night, and she turned her back to him, a little embarrassed.
Theodore knew what she was thinking. He didn't say anything, simply pulling her into his arms.
His arm wrapped around her waist, enveloping her completely in his embrace.
He took in the scent of shampoo in her hair. If she weren't sick right now, he would have felt that days like this were pure bliss.
Emilia just stared out the window, her thoughts a mystery.
Time passed slowly.
The past few days had been calm.
Thanks to timely treatment and care, the scrapes on Emilia's body quickly scabbed over and healed, revealing new skin underneath.
Sophia continued to treat Emilia as usual. She had mentioned ECT to Emilia, but Emilia said the concert was just a few days away. If she were to undergo the treatment, it would have to be after the concert was over.
So, for the past few days, it was still injections and medication.
Perhaps due to the medication, Emilia had been in a daze for the past few days.
She didn't know what she was doing.
It was the first time in her life she had felt so lost, as if a whole day would pass inexplicably, and when she tried to recall it, she remembered nothing.
On the third night after the rehearsal, Emilia gazed out the window, listening to Christian drone on during a video conference, confirming all the details for the next day's concert.
Nearby, Theodore was still busy with work.
He seemed to have been very busy lately.
As if sensing her gaze, Theodore looked up in Emilia's direction.
It wasn't until today that someone managed to get him out.
It was someone from The Glenn Group, and it took them some time to secure his release.
Now, he was waiting to board.
He carried a secure briefcase containing important documents.
He stared at the briefcase, his heart pounding with tension.
"Felix, I never expected things to get so messy this time," said a friend from abroad who had come to see him off and was flying elsewhere. "I was hoping you could stay a few more days."
Felix handled it with composure, smiling as he replied, "It's been great. I'll come back when I have time, or you can come find me in Alden City. I should be there."
"Sure, it's a deal then! I want to try some of that spicy barbecue!" his friend said with a grin.
Felix smiled and nodded.
The boarding announcement started to play. Felix waved to his friend and joined the line to board the plane.
Once he was in his seat and the plane began to move, soaring into the sky, Felix's heart finally began to settle.
