Felix let out a mocking laugh.
“Then do you know why she got sick?” Felix continued. “The cause of her illness.”
Tyler looked down slightly.
“Silence means you knew,” Felix said, reading Tyler’s expression.
Tyler didn’t deny it.
He did know.
It was all because of him, because of his mistrust in her, that everything had happened.
Watching Tyler's disgustingly hypocritical act, Felix's emotions churned.
“When you abducted her later and tried to force yourself on her, do you have any idea the devastating damage you caused?” Felix’s voice was laced with fury.
Tyler remained silent, tacitly admitting it.
“You nearly pushed her to her death, do you know that?!” Felix was practically screaming the words.
The more he looked at Tyler’s expression, the more his anger felt like a sledgehammer, pounding on him, making him want to tear Tyler to shreds.
Joyce’s words echoed in his ears over and over.
“Tyler tried to force himself on Emilia… and Emilia… she had a complete breakdown.”
“Felix, I went to see Emilia. It was only then I found out she’d been seeing a psychiatrist for a long time.”
After Joyce's call that day, he had quickly contacted other people he knew in Alden City and also reached out to Theodore.
He found out what had happened to Emilia afterward.
The Emilia of today had lost all will to live, like an empty shell walking around.
And the one responsible for it all was the man standing before him, Tyler!
“Speak!” Felix roared. “No more silence! Say something!”
He grabbed Tyler’s collar again, trying to force him to speak.
Israel, who had been watching from the side, saw that things were getting out of hand and immediately stepped in to stop them.
“Dr. McCarthy, Mr. Erickson hasn’t been well lately. At that time… he wasn't in his right mind,” Israel explained.
In truth, even he thought Tyler’s actions were monstrous, but he was on Tyler’s payroll, so…
“The second time Mr. Erickson went to see Miss Dennis, he was trying to explain, but Miss Dennis had already…”
