Tyler was still kneeling.
His head was bowed, and his coffeers soaked the ground in front of him.
Just as Emilia and Theodore were about to leave the coffee room.
Tyler suddenly spoke. "Make me your second choice."
"When he's not around to take care of you, let me do it... let me stay by your side."
He looked up at their retreating backs.
He couldn't lose her.
Even if she was going to be with Theodore.
As long as she left a small space for him in her heart, he was willing.
"Even if it's just out of pity," Tyler said.
Theodore paused for a moment and glanced back at Tyler.
Was he asking to share Emilia with him?
To be her man on the side, without any official claim?
Of course, Theodore wasn't willing.
He averted his gaze and looked at Emilia.
But Emilia didn't say anything. She glanced up at Theodore, then led him out of the coffee room.
She didn't spare Tyler a single look.
As the door to the coffee room closed, Tyler collapsed onto the floor.
He stared at the closed door, laughing and crying, completely broken.
She wouldn't even have him as a second choice?
The shadows of the trees outside fell across him as he closed his eyes in agony.

Theodore escorted Emilia back to the car.
They settled into the back seat, and the driver began the journey back to Glenn Manor.
Feeling weary, Emilia leaned back and closed her eyes to rest.
Theodore watched her, looking like he wanted to say something but held back.
He was worried.
He knew Tyler had once been very good to her.
He knew they had seven years of history, something he couldn't compete with.
They had even had two children together.
He worried she might have a change of heart and agree to Tyler's proposal.
His own desires had grown over time.
Years ago, just being able to watch her was enough.
