The men who had just been running their mouths nervously eyed one another. Not a single person dared to speak.
"If those are your only concerns, I will give you my answer."
His voice sliced through the heavy silence. "I love Emilia. I am not 'settling' for her. I spent years fighting tooth and nail just hoping she would look my way. She finally chose me."
"But Boss, you could easily have—"
"There is no one else. There is no second choice," Theodore cut him off effortlessly.
"She is brilliant. She is better than any of you could ever comprehend."
"Without her, the man sitting before you today would not exist."
His tone was devoid of anger, yet it carried an undeniable weight. "Since you decided to bring this up today, consider this my official notification."
It was a notification, not a negotiation. There was zero room for debate.
The board members exchanged panicked looks. Finally, Director Sutton spoke up again.
"Boss, The Glenn Group does not just belong to you. Your marriage directly impacts the company's stock and future. You cannot afford to be this reckless."
Theodore lifted his gaze and locked eyes with him.
Sutton flinched but forced himself to stand his ground. "Anyone else would be fine, but Emilia Dennis is unacceptable."
Theodore suddenly laughed.
Usually, his smile was warm and refined, but right now, it sent a deep chill down their spines.
"So, what you are really saying is that I should marry your niece?"
"I believe I already declined your subtle offer in private. So tell me, Director Sutton, why did you send someone to harass my mother about it?"
Sutton's face drained of color. He opened his mouth but no sound came out.
The other executives stared at him in shock.
