Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 717

"On the other hand, if you stubbornly stick with Christian, we will officially be enemies. I might just partner with the Erickson Group to carve up The Glenn Group instead. Have you thought about that?"

It was a blatant threat.

Standing off to the side, Ray was vibrating with outrage.

"Mr. Donovan, how can you speak to her like that!" Ray snapped defensively.

But Frederick ignored the assistant entirely, keeping his condescending gaze locked on Emilia.

Surprisingly, the smile never slipped from Emilia's face.

She took a deliberate step forward.

The tip of her stilettos pointed aggressively toward Frederick. Instead of retreating from his intimidation, she closed the distance.

She might have been shorter than him, but she didn't shrink back an inch.

Her expression remained flawlessly composed—a smile that was as gentle as it was uncompromising.

"Frederick," Emilia began smoothly. "If The Glenn Group was so easy to carve up, why haven't you done it already?"

"The Glenn Group have always been one of the top three giants in this city, and Theodore is far from an easy target. As for tearing his empire apart..."

The smile on Emilia's lips deepened into something venomous. "You simply don't have the teeth for it."

She had no qualms about burning this bridge to the ground.

The second she and Theodore chose to ally with Christian, it was guaranteed they would be going to war with the other two Donovan brothers.

Even if she cowed and played submissive now, Frederick wouldn't spare her. He would still throw up roadblocks every step of the way just to bleed her dry.

"Maybe. But crushing you, Emilia? That I can do in my sleep," Frederick sneered.

Emilia laughed softly. "Haven't you already been trying? During the *Voice of the Divine* broadcast, Mr. Wyatt might have been the one throwing a tantrum on stage, but I am fully aware of exactly how many strings you were pulling behind the curtain."

Frederick's eyes narrowed dangerously.

"My choice," Emilia stated, holding his furious stare without blinking, "remains exactly the same."

She had forged her alliance with Christian a long time ago.

Before Theodore ever got involved, she and Christian had already built an airtight partnership.

"Emilia, do you seriously still think you're the untouchable golden child of the Dennis family?" he taunted.

Emilia maintained her serene smile, her gaze razor-sharp and unyielding.

"I'll give you time to rethink this," Frederick warned darkly. "I'll give you exactly three chances. Three chances to come to me and beg for a do-over."

With one final, loaded glare, he turned on his heel.

His assistant scrambled to follow, and the two men disappeared down the hall.

Soon, Emilia and Ray were the only ones left in the quiet corridor.

Ray was fuming. "That guy is unbelievably arrogant! He completely talked down to us!"

But Emilia just stared at the empty space where Frederick had been, a storm brewing in her eyes.

After a long pause, she checked her watch. "We should get to the networking lunch."

There were moves she needed to make.
