"What if I decide sixty million is my limit?" Emilia challenged.
Chloe smirked and turned to Caleb.
"Caleb, Frederick and I had a productive chat during the break," Chloe said. "If we are going to fund Aegis, we are capping the cap table. Only one other party is allowed in."
"Meaning, myself, Frederick, and Emilia. One hundred million dollars each."
Caleb looked genuinely confused. "But..."
"No 'buts'," Chloe interrupted smoothly. "Feel free to poll the room. See if anyone else wants a piece of your company."
Emilia's eyes darkened slightly. What exactly had happened while she was securing Elias?
She shot a glance at Ray.
Ray leaned down and whispered, "A contact of mine just texted. Chloe's assistant was making the rounds during the break. She leaked the Elias situation to the entire room but explicitly told everyone to keep us in the dark."
Emilia understood immediately.
Chloe had weaponized the truth.
By exposing the fatal flaw to the room, she had guaranteed that zero other firms would invest.
A company with no future was a dead hand.
They had likely also signaled that neither Chloe nor Frederick actually intended to invest—they were just here to bankrupt Emilia.
Up at the front, Caleb's secretary whispered the same news into his ear. His face turned ashen.
Chloe watched Caleb's reaction and smiled brightly.
"Crystal clear now?" Chloe gloated. "So this table only has three players left. Me, Frederick, and Emilia."
"Frederick and I are united on this." Chloe turned her venomous gaze to Frederick. "We're in for a hundred million each. Emilia, you either go all-in for a hundred million right now, or you fold and get out!"
The trap was sprung. The pressure was entirely on Emilia.
Frederick leaned forward, fixing his predatory gaze on her.
