Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 760

Emilia's serene smile remained perfectly intact.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the ink on the contract has barely dried," she said smoothly. "How can you be so absolutely certain that I'm going to lose?"

A few men opened their mouths to argue, but Emilia slammed the brass paperweight against the mahogany desk again, forcing them into submission.

"Actually, this is a blessing in disguise," Emilia continued, her gaze sweeping over the crowd. "As some of you so loudly declared, you only sought a partnership to curry favor with Theodore. Now you want to sever ties? Fine. I have absolutely no objections."

"What I don't understand is why you're so desperate to loudly sever ties when we haven't even signed a single contract yet."

A few executives shifted uncomfortably, avoiding her piercing gaze.

The answer was obvious—they were performing for Chloe Erickson. Anyone with half a brain could ask around and discover that Chloe had engineered the trap at Aegis Dynamics.

And it was Chloe who had bought the trending hashtags.

These people were storming Inceptus just to pledge loyalty to the Erickson family by publicly humiliating Emilia.

But none of them had the spine to admit it out loud.

Emilia didn't bother exposing their pathetic motives.

"Well, your performance is over. You've publicly declared your exit. You may leave," Emilia commanded, her tone turning to ice. "I don't welcome vultures. Walk out the door before I have security throw you out."

Then, her expression softened as she turned to the handful of genuinely concerned industry peers.

"For those of you here to inquire about the reality of the situation, I appreciate your concern. Just wait a few days. Time will prove everything. For now, all I will say is that the project is proceeding flawlessly."

With that, the crowd was effectively dismissed.

Hidden in a far corner, Nolan Erickson was holding up his phone, live-streaming the entire confrontation to Chloe.

"Did you see that?" Nolan chuckled. "I have to hand it to her, she's got nerve. I thought she'd burst into tears, but she just threw everyone out."

On the screen, Chloe scoffed.

"She's just putting on a brave face. Let's see how long she can drag out this pathetic bluff."

Chloe ended the video call.

They surged forward, shoving microphones in his face as camera flashes blinded the plaza.

"Mr. Glenn! What are your thoughts on Emilia's catastrophic financial failure?"

"Mr. Glenn, are you still planning to marry her? Will this massive blunder delay the wedding?"

"Do you regret allowing her to play with millions of dollars?"

...

The onslaught of questions was relentless.

Millions of eyes were watching the live broadcast.

Theodore stood tall, one arm securely shielding the gourmet lunchbox he had prepared for Emilia, while his security detail aggressively pushed the frenzy back.

Theodore stared into the sea of flashing cameras. His expression was a mask of cold, untouchable power.

"First and foremost, let me make one thing absolutely clear," Theodore's voice boomed over the chaos, authoritative and unyielding. "The wedding date remains unchanged. Regardless of whether this investment yields a fortune or falls to ashes, we are getting married."
