The car swayed gently with the momentum of the turn.

She was utterly overwhelmed–Damian had a way of pulling her into his own private whirlwind.
Being in the moving car, she didn’t dare make a sound.
He wasn’t faring much better himself.
As the car finally entered the city limits, the two of them slowly, carefully, straightened their clothes.
By the time James pulled up to the curb and opened the door, they were both fully composed, with nothing out of place visible to the outside world.
“Next week, we’ll go look at wedding dresses together,” Damian said, taking her hand as they stepped onto the sidewalk.
Isabelle hadn’t expected him to move so quickly. With the company’s IPO process just stabilizing, he must have been carving out every spare moment to handle their personal plans piece by piece.
“Alright,” she replied. Her own schedule was flexible–it mainly depended on his availability. “Is there anything specific you need me to do?”
“Just be mentally prepared, that’s all.” In the private elevator heading up to their penthouse, Damian affectionately tapped the tip of her nose.
“I can’t just sit around waiting to get married, can I?” she said with a soft laugh.
On her end, Christian and Caroline had already started helping with preliminary preparations. Isabelle felt almost like a spectator–no one was letting her lift a finger.
“Just focus on being my bride. That’s the most important job right now,” he said, his tone leaving no room for argument.
After returning home, washing up, and finally settling into bed, she saw a message from Brian light up her phone.
He wanted Isabelle to casually invite Diana to go horseback riding and have barbecue at the ranch the day after tomorrow, but he was too nervous to ask her directly, worried she might interpret it as a formal “meet the parents” scenario.

Isabelle smiled to herself–it really wasn’t that complicated.
She forwarded the invitation to Diana, who agreed right away.
Brian had his own motives–he was eager to bring her into his world and make their relationship official.

Because of the studio’s grand opening the next day, Isabelle went to bed early without waiting for Damian to finish.
He was still at his desk, absorbed in work on his laptop.
Early the next morning, her alarm chimed softly.
When Isabelle opened her eyes, she was greeted by the close–up view of his sleeping face.
He had his arms wrapped around her, their legs tangled together under the sheets, holding her tightly as if afraid she might slip away during the night.
Isabelle gave him a light peck on the corner of his lips and carefully tried to extricate herself.
Damian’s eyes slowly opened. As she sat up, he captured her lips in a soft, sleepy kiss, his hand still holding hers, reluctant to let go.
“Not staying in bed a little longer?” he mumbled, his voice husky with sleep.
“The studio opens today–no time for your distractions.” Isabelle patted his hand and gently pulled herself free.
“I’ve got a board meeting this morning, so I might be late.”
With the company’s public offering underway, Damian was swamped.
“That’s fine. Even if you came early, I’d be too busy to entertain you anyway.”
He knew she was partnering with Diana and that today was the launch. Not lingering further, he got up with her.
Isabelle was brushing her teeth at the double vanity when Damian walked past her from behind, lifted the toilet seat, and began using the bathroom.
Isabelle glanced sideways in the mirror, then quickly averted her eyes, immediately hearing the distinct sound of flowing water.
She desperately wanted to sink into the floor. Even though they were long past modesty, this

level of early–morning domesticity was… new.
She was half–afraid she’d get an eye infection just from the indirect visual.
Soon, the sound of the flush followed.

Isabelle kept her head down, focusing intensely on brushing her teeth, not daring to look around.
Damian rested his chin on her shoulder from behind, squeezing toothpaste onto his brush while watching her reflection in the mirror.
This seemed to be one of the rare mornings they’d woken up together and were moving through a shared routine. It felt strangely settled, almost like an old married couple–like real, daily life.
“Shy?” he asked, a faint smirk playing on his lips.
“No…” she insisted stubbornly, even as a flush crept up her neck.
“Hmm. Since you’re not shy, I guess I don’t need to avoid doing this in front of you next
time.”
“You don’t need to announce it.”
How was she supposed to argue with that?
The man was utterly shameless.
Damian chuckled softly, moving to stand at the sink beside her, brushing his teeth in tandem.
After rinsing, Isabelle wrapped her arms around his waist from the side as he gently wiped the traces of toothpaste from the corner of her mouth with a damp cloth.
It was a rare, quiet moment of harmony between them.
Back when they were both at Cypher Group, Damian would often be out the door before she was fully awake. Now that they each had their own ventures, Isabelle had no choice but to embrace early mornings.
She never thought she could function at this hour–just past 6 a.m. But now, it was becoming a necessary habit.
